3 Day Globat Deal! Oct. 8-11

I signed up with Globat and transferred a domain there. The deal is pretty good, support is decent, transfer rates are excellent. The only area in which I'm dissatisfied is mail handling. One of the email addresses associated with the domain is prone to spam - and lots of it. Most commercial...

archived-videos Vote For Best Film (Round #2)

The new Poktopia? Sounds cool... what sort of lofty office can the judges expect in this new order? :)

    i don't want to

Hang in there, Bad. Speaking before a group isn't that dreadful. While you're collecting butterflies in the stomach, take out a couple of index cards and write down some memories about making your movie. Don't strain to make them profound thoughts, just anecdotes about what happened during pre...

    The best Classical Composers....

Nope, sorry - not a composer. I've always listened to classical music, just starting to get a taste for cheesy 1980's music. I don't have favorite composers, I have favorite musical pieces and genres like waltzes and marches.

    archived-videos Mann In The Slip

That was superb! I had a little trouble following the dialogue (just kidding of course) but enjoyed every minute of it. Kudos to the ast and crew!

    The best Classical Composers....

Bach - all the Bachs - and Mozart are favorites. Strauss (waltz music is a favorite genre) But my favorite songs are from Rimsky-Korsakov (Procession of the Nobles, Dance of the Tumblers, Flight of the Bumblebee and the hauntingly soothing Song of India.) Modern composers - John Williams is...

    critique script critique

Bird, I gave it a couple of read-throughs. I just finished a thorough reading and will send along my critique shortly. Nice work, hope I'll get to read the whole thing at some point - I want to see how the story develops.

    ITOOFC #2 Judges

On behalf of the other maroons I resent that remark. :) I can't tell you all how much I'm looking forward to seeing the entries, let alone judging them. And I'm gearing up to have an entry for Round III. Unless the genre is "musical" of course. Or "opera." What was the list of possible genres...

Who owns a Home Theatre System?

I recently read an article about the differences between DLP and LCD projectors. Naturally I can't remember where I saw the article (my brain just doesn't buffer info like it used to) but it was an interesting read and provided some good information about the pro/con of using DLP or LCD...

    Is this ethical?

I'm pretty much of the same opinion - if they declined to accept your entry because it was late, they had no business cashing your check. Like Zen said, scrutinize the entry rules and press the issue if you've got footing. I'll withold calling them maggots until you've checked out the rules...

    My entry for round 2

Sorry to hear about the injury, Goat. I'm glad it wasn't as serious as it could have been. So let me ask, how did you explain the black eye from a toilet seat to those who asked?

archived-videos Vanity Mirror: short horror film

Katie, Excellent short! Please tell Sean he did an outstanding job as the accordian player. It would have been very easy to overact but his performance was subtle - and that the character believable... and downright creepy!

    Superman is gone

Apparently it was the result of a very nasty systemic infection. The infection stemmed from a wound (common to paralyzed people, my guess is it's something like a bed sore.) In addition to being remembered as a wonderful actor, I hope he'll be remembered as an advocate for spinal injury research.

This Past Week... what did you do?

This wasn't one of my best weeks. In August my dad fell, broke his nose and shattered his elbow. While in the hospital, a CAT scan found rapidly spreading cancer throughout his body. He spent a short time in a rehab hospital, then went home under hospice care. My sister and I were his primary...

Check out my new redisigned site...AGAIN!

Logan, the email address on your "Contact Us" page should be a live mailto link, not just text. Where did the "donate via paypal" button go? I remember it from the old site. Other than that it looks great.
