    what, exactly, does "story" mean?

It can be variable. Theoretically it is the name of the person who devised the story but didn't format it for screenplay. In the case where there is "Story by", you will usually see "Screenplay by" in the credits. Otherwise, if the screenwriter devised the story themselves, you will see...

No contracts, now actors don't want it shown

I would strongly urge you to join a guild or union which offers legal advice as part of its membership. The law on these matters (as with many) is quite complex and involves several Acs of Parliament as well as court precedence.

    Prop guns in a shoot

Although I live in England, I always contact the local police well ahead of time to inform them of dates, times, locations and types of firearms being used. Be sure also to sign post the fact you are shooting in a public place and let local residents know.

    IMAX/digital cost

Read an old interview with Chris Nolan today, and he says he prefers IMAX as it's superior to other formats, image-wise (no argument from me) but it's also cheaper than digital. Surely that cannot be right? IMAX uses a King's ransom in film per minute. Anyone know much about this?

Film Festival Standard resolution? DCP or FULL HD - 2048x1152 or 1920x1080??

Only a few festivals, such as Raindance request DCP. As far as I am aware each festival usually states the maximum resolution in this format (for example, Raindance is 4k.

Manual typewriters: Why every writer should own one

Hasn't really provided any reason to own one, other than a soft spot for the old days. There's a reason that computers have overtaken typewriters, mechanical or electronic.

Am I allowed to be a little unrealistic for middle ages?

To be honest, you're "allowed" to do what you like in your own story. Whether anyone will notice or not, I don't know. If you want it to be understood, use the sign language of the country you're setting it in. Or use one from the time.

Web series hosting - where to go?

Ah, that's great info, thanks. Out of interest, where did you hear about the presentation that you attended? I don't spend a great deal of time dealing with distribution issues or hosting companies (more my brother's area). "Drug porn" - interesting label, I shall have to remember that one ;)...

Certainly. Here's a couple of examples, all with varying viewer demographics. http://www.webserieschannel.com/ http://www.mydamnchannel.com/ http://blip.tv/ There's also sites such as Hulu, although it can only be viewed from the USA.

Web series hosting - where to go?

Nope, the same concept. A hosting site where are target audience are most likely to be found.

Web series hosting - where to go?

We're in the early stages of planning a new film, but are toying with the idea of adapting it into a web series and are not sure about hosting sites, so throwing this open for those with more experience in the area. Our films deal with social realism, and contemporary societal and criminal...

You've got me there, hence why I've thrown it out to the audience. This is pretty much all I can gather from Adobe's webpage: What’s the difference between Premiere Elements and Premiere Pro? Premiere Elements offers options for every level of user, so it’s easy for video enthusiasts to get...
