Wow, that was more true to life kind of writing and acting than I was expecting. Very well done. I think your camera should have done some more moving and angles, but its ok.

archived-videos THE COUNSIL: Prologue for upcoming Web Series

OK I had fun reading this little feud but back to the actual video. The shots were very well done, kudos. I sometimes felt like a quick shot of some random thing was added in every once in awhile. It's nothing bad, it just bothered me. And to you Dready, I happen to love the Scorsese D:

    Cheap poles

So I went looking on the internet for boom poles. Most of them were expensive for just being a piece. But a lot of people were selling mic attachments that you could put on top on a normal wood or fiber glass pole like 5$, with the regular pole it comes out maybe 15-20 bucks. I know it's not a...

    First screenplay- The Animal Thief

Thanks Buddy, I've taken into account what you said and have made some tweakings. I'm writing a second short and was wondering if you could take a look at it before I post it. Obviously I'll edit some of it myself but was just wondering.

The beginnings of my screenplay... I hope you only laugh with me...

I feel like the character of the director should be horribly awful at his job but still manages to be arrogant because he made one "hit" film and the rest was rubbish. He is horribly rude to everyone on set and whenever a complaint or problem comes about he refers to his previous hit which was...

    What did you watch, tonight?

Dr. Strange Love.... it was brilliant. A perfect satire of the nuclear age, some of the lines are so memorable too.

sound Who is your favorite film composer?

Ennio Morricone. The Fist Trilogy had some of the best music and most memorable in my opinion. John Williams is second but close first. John Williams is Movie Music.

    Which to get first?

This is just a general question for investment. I'm not sure what the first I will be filming will be.

    Which to get first?

Should I attempt to get a boom setup first or a shotgun for audio purposes?

    First screenplay- The Animal Thief

In response to the kid using that language is that it's a kid around 12-15. They swear all the time, of course I probably could have said TEENAGER. Buddy Greenfield- You're right, my envisioning with the actual writing didn't work out so well. With those questions you had, with no one...

    Stupid Question

I don't use a good camera nor do I actually have a boom mic. But when using a boom do you plug it into the camera or an recorder?

    What did you watch, tonight?

I watched "Time Bandits". Gilliams movies are always light hearted and quirky in a good way. But it wasn't anything impressive really. Something about Gilliams movies makes me want to continue watching but also just stop watching at the same time.

    Outside

OK I'm filming outside and there is no pwer source to plug into. Now what? Are they any cheap batteries I can purchase for the equipment or no?

    First screenplay- The Animal Thief

This is my first screenplay, whether or not I'll shoot it depends. Hopefully it's not to awful for you guys. INT. CONVIENT STORE - DAY MICKEY is a tall blonde young man who is arguing with the store’s CLERK. He is practically shoving a coupon into the Clerk’s face. Both are obviously...

Thanks man. What about black and white? Do these same aspects apply? I don't have much money so would even flashlights work correctly?

editing Best Software for .MOD files

My camcorder gives me .mod files and it seems like these aren't used in many softwares I've seen. I've tried converters but they seem only to screw with my original clips. Something free would be nice, if not free at least something not to expensive.

cinematography How to use my camera to it's fullest.

Is there anything specific light wise to use to light up my object of focus. Or will any light suffice?
