Yeah, it's nothing short of astonishing, really. The film itself, budget aside, really is worth watching, if you're into the found footage horror genre. Pretty cool movie.

I don't know any film schools that cost that much. Even 4 years of NYU is $200,000, 50k less than the figure you stated, and there are many film schools that cost considerably less.

I wouldn't get the 7D if I were you. I don't think your budget allows it. Get a t3i or a GH2, and spend the rest of your budget on things that will make your videos look better: lenses, lights, sound equipment, etc.
