pitching to a producer. How is it done?

Bluntly said, you're all excited scheming on how to extract maximum value like you've made the oil find of the century. This is exactly the reason people go through agents and sales agents. They understand the art of dealmaking. Rookies often kill deals with unrealistic stipulations, putting...

pitching to a producer. How is it done?

Talk about putting the cart before the horse. Is it bad? If so, all your questions are moot.

editing Streamlining the editing of a multi-camera, multi-microphone video

I'd bet there would be, but if you're saying what I think you're saying, the end result would probably suck.

8 bits 4:2:2 on mirrorless cameras?

Yes and no. It's situational. I've read that the minority can't tell until it goes beyond 13 bits, but the majority can tell up to that point.

    Video Editing Control Module

I have one. I never got the hang of it. It sits there collecting dust. I look at it whenever I'm tempted to buy new gadgets. It's saved me so much money over the years ;) Unfortunately I was recruited into another industry before those years, so I missed that part of history.

Buying a new Desktop to edit film.

Because being popular on Facebook always derives the best answer... for example the millions of people boycotting Steven Spielberg films due to him hunting a dinosaur, almost to extinction. I'm not sure why you think that is simple. The best way to increase performance and render times is to...

Buying a new Desktop to edit film.

#AllGeneralizationsAreFalse It all depends on how the software uses the hardware. As for the CPU, it depends on how the software utilizes the cores to what's the best. Take Premiere Pro for example. It uses the first 4 cores efficiently, cores 5 and 6 so so, but the rest it wastes, so an i7...

    GPU

FULL OF ****. While I don't like it, I've edited HD with crappy computers using only the integrated graphics card. So you probably need less than you've already have. Does the software not work with what you already have? What performance do you require? Is it a problem if you drop frames or...

    Video Editing Control Module

I started on those old U-matics. Linear editing brings back memories... I have to say, for video editing, I don't miss them. The keyboard is so much more efficient than any shuttle control I've used, but as everything it does come down to personal preferences. There's these little units that...

Buying a new Desktop to edit film.

A couple 32" or 34" 4k monitors is what I'd buy. At that size, 16:9 or 16:10 doesn't really matter much. Just not those superwide 21:9 ones. At 24" 16:10 (your 1200p) is what I'd lean towards.

Diff between talent agent and distributor plus -

I understand that's the case for Talent Agents, yes. Sales agent, they only care whether they can sell what you put in front of them.

Diff between talent agent and distributor plus -

I'm not in that space, but from everything I've read, you're after a sales agent. Go to filmspecific.com, pay for a month access. The gal who runs it is an old sales agent. There, they have lists of agents/distributors and a lot of training to help you learn what your best next move should be...

Buying a new Desktop to edit film.

Getting everything right in editing is important. There's very few areas that aren't important, all the way from the appropriate CPU for the software used down to your desk and chair setup. Unfortunately it always comes down to their budget. It's a personal preference. I use one on my...

Buying a new Desktop to edit film.

You're really shooting Interlaced? This is not accurate. I often edit 4k/5k on a 1080p monitor. You'll require the good stuff when you're finishing/grading higher end deliverables. I find a single 24" cramped. I personally prefer a 3 monitor setup. That's usually the case, yes. For...
