My wife and I enjoyed DETOURS very much. This is a very polished film. How many days did it take to shoot it...what camera was used...and what was the budget?

archived-videos Indie of the Month January - Trailer

Sorry, but I can't find an orange vote button. I also could not enter a third trailer because your orange "enter" buttons do not exist on my computer. I tried many different times and many different ways, but it never worked for me. You have THOUSANDS of members and only a handful of trailer...

    Post a Production Pic

For "The Vernonia Incident", the blue truck will push the car over an embankment, and it will be set on fire. We crashed and burned 13 cars for the film, which was shot on 16mm. Below, our effects guy flips a switch which sets off a dynamite charge in the car. He used dinamite and chemical...

archived-videos Indie of the Month January - Trailer

Thank you very much for your patience. We both worked through the frustration, and we are one step further towards making your new contest a success. We hope to see a lot of interesting trailers, and eventually a new "Indietalk" film competition. We love the forum as much as you do. Thanks...

archived-videos Indie of the Month January - Trailer

From what I can see, you have only received three trailers in 5 days, so apparently most of us don't understand your instructions. Please remove my trailer again. I guess we're done.

    legal Rights and Licensing Queries

There are dozens of stock footage companies that license their footage for films, television, and educational purposes. The film clips are supplied by individual filmmakers who receive payment when someone uses their clip. There is usually a one-time payment for the use of the clip.. The rate...

    music Too loud?

Were all of the films loud, or just yours? If all of them were equally loud, then it's the fault of the guy on the festival's audio board. If only your film was loud, then you will need to re-record your audio at a lower volume.

distribution Amazon Prime royalty rate now down to just 1 cent per hour!

Yes, it's very disheartening to put so much into a project and get next to nothing in return. We were pushed out of the you tube world because we didn't fit their requirements, so we moved over to Amazon. We saw the handwriting on the wall with Amazon, so in March 2019 we moved five of our...

    industry Life after Pi

Here is another documentary about working in the movie industry which is very disturbing. The industry work day has gone from 8 hours, to 10 hours, to 12 hours...to 20 hours. I have experienced this myself. How about you. The documentary is called "WHO NEEDS SLEEP".

cinematography Filming Miniature Ship and using MoCo

The more light you have, the more "in focus" your image will be. Remember that the higher the shutter speed, the more light you need. On film they would shoot at 60-80 fps depending on the size of the model. f11 to f16 was common.

    series Alfred Hitchcock Presents - Season 6 & 7

I still cringe every time I hear the name "Daily Motion", because a couple of years ago someone pirated one of our feature films by posting it on Daily Motion. It took over a YEAR for us to get it removed from the site. We checked out the Alfred Hitchcock shows on Daily Motion and see that all...
