My film Crowdfunder just went live

I think perhaps you are falling into a slight fallacy about crowdfunding. If you're trying to raise $5000 then you would need 500 donations of $10. That's just a ridiculously time-consuming and inefficient way to raise that money. I wouldn't sniff at a $10 donation, cos any little helps, but...

My film Crowdfunder just went live

I would be very cautious with Facebook advertising – it is an extremely expensive way to get very few engagements, and I generally would advise against paid advertising for crowdfunding (especially when it's so ineffective at targeting people with the money to contribute).

    Final Draft vs Writer Duet?

If it ain't broke! (Although this is what I'm doing in abandoning CeltX...) I've bought Final Draft. Thanks for thoughts and suggestions, but I figured that industry standard was probably the most important factor for me.

    Final Draft vs Writer Duet?

Interesting. I've not met many people who use that as their main software. Can I ask what the advantages are? Seems quite expensive.

    Final Draft vs Writer Duet?

Yeah, I'm not planning on writing something collaboratively at the moment but it's definitely something I see as a possibility. Plenty of people seem to have had a good experience with Writer Duet in this department. I've been fairly happy with CeltX for shorter and self-shot projects but I...

    Final Draft vs Writer Duet?

This is a question for the screenwriters on here: I'm going to start exclusively using paid screenwriting software (there are lots of reasons for this) and I was on the verge of committing to Final Draft when I saw a lot of people talking about Writer Duet, which I'd never heard of. Has anyone...

    archived-videos Spads: My new web-comedy!

I've never tried horror before, so might be fun ;) FWIW I still think it'll be Corbyn's decision whether he leads the party in 2020 though it definitely looks like Boris is out of the picture (for the time being). To be honest, as big an issue as that is the fact that there's a very decent...

Should I wear formal or casual clothes?

Dress smart, don't dress formal. It's not the 1960s: a suit doesn't have to have a tie or even a jacket. More important are a decent pair of shoes, a collared shirt and clean grooming!

    British Filmmakers

I've met a handful of IT's Brit filmmakers, but if anyone who's lurking on here wants to come to a meet-up event tomorrow night please drop me an email to nick[@]theclapperbored.com I run a little group who offer advice/help to one another and we have occasionally meetings at a private room in...

Anybody doing the 48 this year?

You should come over to London in September and maybe we can put together an IT team ;)

Anybody doing the 48 this year?

London's not until September but I imagine that I'll end up doing it, in some capacity. I've never enjoyed (or had any modicum of success with) speed shooting competitions, but they're a good way to meet people and can be a fun weekend if you keep the stress level in check!

My film Crowdfunder just went live

A lot of people on this forum have concerns about flexible funding because it basically asks you to invest in a product regardless of whether that product can actually be made. So if my campaign is for a film with a budget of £10,000 then the film that I'm asking people to invest in is a £10,000...

My film Crowdfunder just went live

I'm like a stricter version of Rik! I would kick in a tenner but I don't do flexi funding and I've got to stick to my rule. Best of luck though, if you have a project twitter account I'll do some promo tweets for you!

    I can't believe it!

Congrats! I saw the trailer I while back and thought it was looking pretty cool (the big car splash at the end particularly) so I'll eagerly anticipate the IndieTalk screener when it comes along ;) I think projects like this are always interesting to see the creative direction people from a...

Probably worth noting that the OP's video is a private link and your re-cut version is public. I don't think it's cool to do that without their permission.
