My teacher once told me to watch every movie that has won best editing, cinematography, & picture, and pay attention to the different techniques that are used with camera movement, lighting, stage direction, pacing, etc. It helps to see and dissect what exactly helped the film win the awards...

How do I get these two to work together peacefully?

I think you should tell your fiance that you haven't even noticed the flirting because you're too into this project. State that after this project you will not hire her again, but for the necessity of getting this project done without any problems, you will keep her as the DP, but will keep...

Yeah I wasn't sure if I should keep the sound in or replace it with music. For the first shot it's necessary for the phone call, and I thought maybe having the sound to hear the board going over the cracks. The audio is straight from the t3i, I need to invest in a mic.

I really, really enjoyed that. It had a certain "warmth" feel to it. The music selection was great. Editing was spot on, and the cinematography was good. I felt like this could easily be a commercial for the app. I was actually pretty bummed that at the end none of that happened. I was...

Nicely done. Nice use of the dutch angle, location was pretty neat. Audio sounded really clear, liked the transition from "darkness" to "light". Look forward to seeing more of your work!

cinematography When to use a tripod and when to use a camera stabilizer?

I think having some sort of steadicam/dolly for running scenes is essential because you're able to move with the subject and it puts the viewer in that motion with the subject that is moving fast.
