    sound Free to good home...

I never pass up an offer for free royalty free music. This is pretty nice, I can see these being used for an Indie short. So, thanks for the music, I may actually use the Square Peg theme for a production I'd like to do (most likely just a pipe dream at this point in time), but you never know.

    editing Sony Vegas Problem

ok a sony hdd cam , if it's in HD, records in m2t (or something like that) it's basically 5.1 stereo. I've only done this once with a sony HD cam and it was a few months ago, but I seem to remember having to import two files, the video and the audio and it actually layers out on 5 tracks. A...

    editing Sony Vegas Problem

I've never heard of this issue nor have I had this problem happen to me and I've been using Vegas for a few years. you might try uninstalling, and reinstalling again, or check the Vegas webpage for updates. This is indeed odd. Did you check the Knowledge base on the web? Now you've got me...

    Let me write for you!

What about a horror film where people log onto a chat room, and like a Ouija board, the more they stay logged on, the more energy a spirit gets and is able to come through the portal and like the Ring, can come through the computer (as a spirit), take over a body and make them do things to other...

    cinematography Point of View Scenes

I was thinking the same thing actually. I know the higher the shutter speed the more detail is let in, so yeah, maybe it's a simple thing as that. The reason I was asking is because I don't have a camera that has the ability to change the shutter speed yet, Im still working on deciding which...

    cinematography Point of View Scenes

Does anyone know what film format, speed, and anything else special I need to know in order to get the cinematic Point of View scene like in Saving Private Ryan where you see the action from the characters point of view? When I move my camera around like that, I get blurred and dizziying images...

    editing Sony Vegas Problem

Ah ok, I'm at work right now (full time job) so I don't have my Vegas opened, but it sounds like you need to do a video capture. I forget where exactly it is but's under the same thing Import, look for Capture and go through those steps, it'll work fine then. Don't do the Browse method, you need...

    editing Sony Vegas Problem

Vegas is my editing suite of choice for it's ease of use and versatility, so this should be something simple. Not to be funny, but did you scroll down a bit and see if the audio was placed on another track? The other option is that you may have a seperate audio file, but this is usually done...

    An indie movie-making poll (kinda)

Well, i'm more of a post production guy, visual effects and all, but I dabble in music video production. I like having controlled environments for lighting and all as I'm not an expert on lighting yet. Eventually I do want to make a movie, but for now, the steady money for me is in editing and...

    Sony High-Definition Mini-DV Camcorder (HDR-HC9) vs Canon VIXIA HV30

Yes you can record HD on miniDV tapes. There are a few camcorders that are HD and miniDV compatible. I stick with MiniDV because of the fact that if I can record HD on MiniDV, but that's simply my preference on a limited budget. then of course there's HDV, DVCAM.....etc.

DIY Tips - General Discussion & "Request Jar"

The bearings might be strong enough but there's still the issue of the motor being able to pull the weight of a person, but I'll do a little more research on this, this is starting to sound like a feasible DIY thing. Just what my wife wants to hear...... LOL!

DIY Tips - General Discussion & "Request Jar"

Yeah I love tinkering around with stuff, that's how I did half of my studio equipment (dolly track, green screen, etc). Soldering isn't a problem, I've done that plenty of times, I think the issue I'll have is finding a strong enough motor and gear or something.

DIY Tips - General Discussion & "Request Jar"

Holy cow! never thought a lazy susan could hold 500lbs. Thanks man! Now, if only I had Pinky and the Brain to figure out how it all goes together. There's no way in hell I'll figure out how to hook up a motor to a battery. Do you have the number to McGyver? But at least I know where to start...

DIY Tips - General Discussion & "Request Jar"

Yes, for small objects, I've found a tutorial on that, but I'm looking for something that can hold a person (maybe up to 200lbs.). I don't think a Lazy Susan bearing would be able to withstand the weight of a person, I'm thinking something like ball bearings in rotors or something, I don't know...

Small Business - What other than feature films?

OK, Rugby then, or football. I'm sure football (soccer to us) or even that confusing game called cricket is popular around you? Well, there's always the Girsl Gone Wild Down Under that's never been produced. LOL! What about real estate? Here there's a market for Real Estate video work, anything...

DIY Tips - General Discussion & "Request Jar"

I can't find my original Thread for this, but I had asked a few months ago about how to make a turntable large enough to hold a person and music equipment. This would be so that I could have the person (or other object) slowly spin so that I can get a 360 shot. Any ideas on what size motor or...
