Easy answer. Make shorts to gather experience (you did) or if you are obsessed by an idea which only works as a short. Otherwise try hard to go long, even with minimal budget.

Why should it? You did all those jobs. You`re a filmmaker. Most filmmakers understand photography and have precise ideas how to edit their stuff. Some even can score and sound. Typically they focus on writing and directing. "A film by ..." is recommended.

Yes, this fails to tease. From your comments, it looks as if dialogue is important. Put some short lines into the trailer. Pay attention, that music fits the editing or vice versa.
