There's an exercise some teachers give to the film school students: They give them a concept and ask the students to write the same concept in different genres. Why don't you develop the concept as a comedy and as a documentary/mocumentary and decide which one is the best.

I agree with you.. If the concept, theme and idea of the film is about what is the real reality (if there is such a thing as reality at all), then messing up with dreams is apprehensible :)
