Movies with no or little dialogue. Why you like it or don't like it

If the story keeps moving forward visually in an interesting way, there is no need for dialog. I enjoy movies that tell the story visually - as long as it tells a story or provokes thought. Movies like Tetsuo and Eraserhead aren't dialog heavy and don't even tell a story in the straightforward...

Screening of RIKI-OH: The Story of Ricky

Yeah. I'd go to this (if I lived in Atlanta, of course). Anytime a guy can punch a hole completely through someone's body -- well that's some intriguing cinema!

    captive/prison based films ???

Escape from Alcatraz Cube Die Hard Some of the more recent torture horror, like Frontiere(s), Calvaire, Captivity The Saw movie series has elements of "find a way to escape" This might have been My Little Eye but they weren't really captured so much as volunteers in a reality experiment. Of...

archived-videos Get'n Ready with Sensuous Divine 18 and over only!

Eh. If the remainder of the series continues in the same vein as this clip, then I'd lose interest pretty fast. Sexual titillation has a time and place, but I've seen it done much more creatively. For example, the folks at Livfilms make no attempt to hide the sexual nature of their short films...

Weird movies you liked as a kid

Ice Pirates = YES! Last Starfighter = YES! Secret of NIMH = Ye..er, no. I was too old, but I DID read the book as a kid! When older -- how about Buckaroo Banzai! Flash Gordon -- awesome! Just re-watched with the kids last week. Clash of the Titans -- ditto above! Tetsuo, Eraserhead, Blue...

    Magic Trick - Help

A few things come to mind - and I'm not really an expert on this so forgive me if my ideas are not practical. 1. Split-screen approach. Keeping the camera perfectly still, line up the painter on one side of the frame, then your "appearing" furniture on the other side. As long as the camera...

    Do I think too much?

Do you believe the act you described above IS the norm for gay men? Some gay men may take offense to that. Then again, others may agree. Then again, some straight men may also not find anything wrong with what you suggest is not "their norm." My point is that when you are dealing with issues...

I'll have NUN OF THIS!! Local film company steals other local company's plot...

Entertainment value is key. Thanks for keeping us engaged! But I think there is some value to some of these comments. Combined efforts for marketing and media coverage, etc. You could both protest each other's movie.

I'll have NUN OF THIS!! Local film company steals other local company's plot...

Wait until December, and hopefully they will have things underway. Tip off your local diocese that a movie disrespectful to nuns is about commence filming. Watch them rally the congregation into a protesting frenzy. Alert the media to the issue. Watch the media decend. Then, when all is...

UC -- way to pull it together. I watched the movie before reading your post. I noticed the audio was a bit off, but then I saw your explanation why. As I said, congrats on getting a group together in no time and producing a decent short out of it!

Agreed. I would shy away from calling that one an episode. "Teaser" is easier to accept. After all, the opening and closing credits run longer than your actual content. Looks cool though!
