    Movies that made you cry

when i was a little tyke i would cry at the end of 'land before time'. EVERY time. partially because it was sad, partially because it was over :D now a days, the only film I can remember that ever made me cry was the pursuit of happyness. which isnt even one of my favorites. i almost cried...

    NEW Canon T2i

well they finally put 24p mode under 1080p, so having that available idk why you would ever need to use 720? i guess if you were trying to use less storage, which i think canon could care less about. also i dont think anyone has experience with this cam because as far as i know it's still not...

    Filmmaking books

uranium, about your quote of mine: i guess i dont have any specific examples because it hadnt really happened to me, but i see a lot of other people, especially when newbies ask questions that arent the best questions or maybe too general, repliers try to reword their question or criticize it...

good point gonzo, i meant to mention that in my o.p. aside from finding little gems like you found, there are plenty of good examples of what DOESN'T work. haha that certainly saves me some time.

cinematography How do they do this???

i dont know for sure, but i would imagine that if you had the subject in focus to begin with, and the subject and the camera move together, then it would stay in focus. just a guess

archived-videos "A Very Timely Christmas" Comedy Video

hahah, that was pretty funny. not very strong production values (lighting, editing, camera work, acting) but definitely, definitely funny. and that's probably all you were going for "if i wanted to beat off i wouldve rented the mask"

How to get one's screenplay noticed

are chances of success higher by trying to sell a screenplay, or making the film yourself, getting into a fest, and getting distributed?

    "adapting" a novel

This is a good tip. I think everyone else was mostly refering to stories whose rights are already public (right? after 40 years anyone can use it. or is that just music?) If anything I would probably rip off (i use that term lightly) a newer-ish book. I'd like to hear more on the situation...

    cinematography SLR Films

is the difference between 24p and 30p really that noticeable? i mean i understand the relation between 24p and film, but does it really matter much more than some subconscious recongnition? or is that just your preference?

    cinematography SLR Films

are you implying that if you have a shallow depth of field that ur project will look cinematic? that is not a very good generalization at all... i woud argue that you dont need a shallow dof at all to achieve a cinematic look. personally i think it is a very overused technique by digital...
