Love Squared : ten part dramatic series release

Thank you sir. This was shot by Eric Latek on his Red. He used 70s vintage Russian anamorphic lenses. Turned out pretty great I think. He also fully ran the camera and pulled focus by himself...very talented guy, and super nice.

What acting skills or qualities do YOU look for?

    * Are they good? Do they 'get it?' Meaning, do they get what acting is about and how to portray a character realistically? Those are the first questions. If the actor can't read a simple line and have you believe it, look elsewhere. Also, you want to look for the 'it factor', which is that thing...

Love Squared - official trailer (dramatic ten-part webseries)

Periodically. Not sure the time frame...I would say once a week...anything else and all the ADD online people will lose interest. ;)

Love Squared - official trailer (dramatic ten-part webseries)

The DP went very yellow with the shoot on purpose. Which I actually like...sorta Ridley Scott...And even though I agree that there is perhaps too much yellow (it's a style choice) they are still tweaking the color. On the indie side of things, let's be open about this...I think the style...

archived-videos Door to Door - Wanting some constructive criticism

I think it's great that your making movies! Huzzah! OK, so the first thing you want to do is get a boom mic and start capturing quality audio. You can get an external setup, or you can get a camera that allows XLR directly from boom to camera. You can get quality audio from this setup, contrary...

Decent-paying jobs that use film skills?

If you can land a job at a university (especially a good one), either working in the A/V department, or teaching, you've got yourself a pretty good gig. If you're working in A/V, naturally you want to be one of the main dudes in that department...you won't me making a lot of money if you're...

Can Digital get this level of quality?

You can absolutely get the same quality with digital that you can get with film. Yes post work is in order for the most part, but it's totally doable. Very soon you won't even need to spend time on it...technology is moving at breakneck speeds in the camera and computing world. The new Epics...

PERMITS - Anyone ever shut down?

Ya. We were in a forest park and the Rangers came and told us to leave. They were being total dicks...this was in Rhode Island in the middle of nowhere. Yes, granted there were 20 or so of us...but still...you could tell they got pleasure out of 'doing their jobs.'

Need another excuse to watch "Pulp Fiction"?

Momento has a cut for this...it's worth giving it a look if it was done right. I'm sure the original is vastly superior in tone.

Clean but sparse. I like this simplicity and color scheme, but it needs a little more content.

Love Squared - a dramatic webseries

I recently sat down with many of the cast and heir director Aaron Massey to watch the rough cut of Love Squared, a ten-part dramatic webseries I worked on last year in Newport, Rhode Island. I have to say I was really impressed. Solid work all around. It should be hitting the interwebs in no...
