Can a script be too small in scope?

Never know who you might run into these days... plus those films tend to be made almost exclusively independently, and a lot of times these films are made by people outside the mainstream industry.

Stories like this form these guys, Urges me to soldier on, You gotta do your dirt, and break your back to get the movie made. I draw the line at selling my body, and doing anything that involves a needle or anything penetrating my body that ain't right!

Can a script be too small in scope?

Re: Re: I was planning on writing a young adult novel or two first to fund getting a short made, or a manager or two I have been working on this script since I was 12 so I am determined to get it on screen with me behind the camera somehow, even if I have to "christianize" the film, which is a...

Can a script be too small in scope?

I was writing it as a dream project to get to direct after I get some shorts and some other stuff made. I could shop the idea around to a smaller studio, (but still bigger than the asylum) and possibly get it made. I know it's not a "right now" movie. Since if I made it even if I had a job and a...

Can a script be too small in scope?

No I don't think these things are small in scope. Those things make movies worth watching. I have seen open water and Reservoir dogs, I think I saw breakfast club a long time ago...haven't seen buried or rear window yet. I did see psycho which is also a limited location movie. I could put...

Can a script be too small in scope?

Can a screenplay be too small in scope? I mean is if the story and premise on the surface would automatically label it as a potential block buster, but the script sticks to mostly the same hand full locations for long periods of time.

Killing off the lead and bringing them back for the climax?

Well she gets shot by the bad guys when the main charachters are in the safe house. She Pretended to be dead so that in the mean time she'd be in a better position to deal with the main villains of the story..

Killing off the lead and bringing them back for the climax?

It's actually the first. Pretty much during the time of being supposedly dead she has grown a lot as a character and has went from a passive aggressive, to a bad ass during her time away, but there are some clues laid out to infer she was never killed off, that will be tied up at the end.

Killing off the lead and bringing them back for the climax?

I was thinking about killing off my female lead, who is the main charachter somewhere in the middle of the second act, then they come back just in time to save the secondary charachter during the final shootout. Most movies tend to do this at the end, or even have the character be resurrected...

    Why so pessimist about distribution?

there are also value distributors who pick up lots of low-budget genre films and put them on 8 and 10 pack DVD's you see in the $5.00 bin. No matter how much they suck.
