h44, it seems like you're still trying to do things like the pro's that have millions of dollars but on a shoestring budget. And while I applaud that idea and effort, you have to come to terms with the fact that you may have to divert from that line of thinking.
As far as suggestions on how to...
1. The truck sequence in Raiders of the Lost Ark is, IMO, the greatest action scene ever put to film.
2. The "free running" chase scene at the beginning of Casino Royale.
3. The shootout after the bank robbery in Heat.
4. The scene in Die Hard, where Bruce Willis jumps off of the roof was...
I'm always thinking about the things I would do differently in my previous work, e.g. the mistakes I would fix, different angles or shot choices... But I wouldn't want to revisit something I've already done simply because I'd rather take the lessons I've learned and apply them to a newer...
Batman Begins never got that high of marks when it was made, and I don't know many people at all that consider it a great movie. The Dark Knight, I put right on par with Batman Begins. Other than Ledger's performance (which was awe-inspiring) the movie was just as drawn out and anti climactic...
Okay, I'm going to be brutally honest. It's not a great script, BUT it is a pretty decent story idea. The twist at the end is good too.
One of the biggest problems I saw was that there was a LOT of cliched dialogue. Stuff that seemed to come out of everything from B-grade action films to after...
Far and away, Fincher is the better director. All of his movies except for Alien 3 were incredible.
Nolan on the other hand, had a good movie with Memento, and a great movie with Insomnia. Other than that, his work is dreadfully overrated, IMO.
If you want to show the line being cut, simply set up a shot indoors (so you can control the amount of light) of a close up of a gloved hand cutting it.
In fact, I would shoot that and insert it between your two angles of the woman on the phone.
Also, my comment about audio was because you...
It makes sense if the guys are about to commit a crime and after getting out of the car, end up at the house of the woman on the phone. That's what I got out of it.
Don't know if you realize it or not, but you need to fix the audio badly, and I would tighten up your edit. You hold shots way too...
The DP's job is to assist the director in achieving his/her vision. So, is the two camera thing your vision, or is it the DP's? The answer to that question should tell you what to do.
There's a lot of judgmental people in here....
Admittedly, I didn't think the short was that funny but it had nothing to do with the title or perceived content. This was supposed to be a comedy short, not a documentary. It's just like when Tosh or Dane Cook try to make a joke out of heavy...
I know what you're referring to. Ridley Scott recently stated that he wants to start shooting mostly in 3D and at 60fps because it does create a smoother, better looking picture.
The reason most don't, I would imagine, is because we have become accustom to films looking the way they do when...
There was a horror movie called The Silent House that came out a year ago or so that was supposedly done in one shot. But later was found out to be done in a couple of shots with some clever editing to make it look like one long shot.
Most NLE software including Edius 6 will have sort of easy to use built in titles.
