tv Has anyone ever tried approaching a TV channel like scy fy?

Is a final stereo output commercially distributable? Do theatrical releases always have to be surround, or is stereo also okay. I understand that for a horror film, that surround would be preferable and more effective, but is there any rule that says that for theatrical distribution or for...

    Why do people like concerts?

It goes both ways. You can limit your possibilities to your experience or exeperiences, whereas someone without real world experience can google and research and decide what experience they'd like to have. I'll just give you one example. You once said that the sound designers or sound editors...

    Why do people like concerts?

I've seen a Knicks game 5 rows behind Spike Lee, who was court side (my brother used to get free tickets), and I've seen Raptors and Warriors games from the worst seats imaginable, and they still beat watching the games on TV. I've seen U2 from the pit, and I've seen Springsteen multiple times...

US$ 825 for 20 lines??? I'll do Crazy for that amount. I'll even throw in the thin accent I have. I can throw in my original thicker accent too. I can even do a foreign language crazy... what the hell are you doing? why are you spending your money on a voice actor??? Why can't you do crazy...

    Why do people like concerts?

wow yeah. Nothing quite like live music. Haven't been to that many concerts, but I really love live music. I'd rather listen to live versions of songs than the studio versions. There's something natural about the music. Live Sports is awesome too. It's just a whole different feel to the game.

tv Has anyone ever tried approaching a TV channel like scy fy?

Yeah, I edited my comment regarding the budget number. But I think that number was arrived at after Artisan purchased the film (for $1mm if I remember correctly) and paid for the post production. Just my conclusion. I doubt, the original filmmakers had that kind of money.

According to wikepedia, blair withch cost $23k https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Blair_Witch_Project Not for all the reasons he's stated, but I agree with APE, that there's a lot of money in TV, and it seems to me, a lot more opportunity, for newcomers. Edit: I just read the piece, and it says...

    Dealing with difficult leading ladies

I know what you guys mean by diva-ish behavior. I met an actor at a meetup and she was saying "you know... it's my art and directors need to leave me alone, and just let me do my thing," and the actors around her were agreeing. And I wanted to say, "no, it's not your art. A lot of people are...

    Dealing with difficult leading ladies

I got to work with Dutch factory workers in Krommenie. I don't know if you know the name, but they worked for a company called Forbo. F'kin giant mother lovers. I'm 5'4 :). They were telling me funny jokes about the Germans,... and Belgians and dead birds (I wonder if you know that one haha)...

    Starting with a feature

Kman, I know how you feel. My first movie was a feature. I thought "who the hell watches shorts?," "making a short would be a waste of time. Shorts is for suckers. Idiots. These fools. They know nothing. As little as John Snow." Of course this is back in 2006 and I'm not sure what John Snow knew...

My bad. I just assumed it was also in post production. Well screw my crap advice :). Congrats on the film.

Do you find yourself liking people less the more you direct?

I find your claim that you've shot three films, a bit confusing. I'm not trying to be disparaging here, but there's something that doesn't quite add up, the way you have your mindset. You say that you've shot three films and you think you're getting better with each one. How do you know that...
