Would smooth movement mean, instead of using cuts to move the camera view, the camera moves? Forgive me if that's a stupid question, I've never done cinematography work before. And is slower paced editing staying on the same shot for longer, but not lingering on it for too long?

Hey, for my short idea I'm hoping to get writing soon, both of the characters are adult males. Trouble is, I don't know any adult male actors. Is it possible to have teenage actors (like, aged 16 or 17) to play older characters effectively?

It's something I considered for this piece in particular as lots of edits and cuts and jumps wouldn't suit the idea behind the short. As it's quite a meditative piece that is essentially just dialogue (so I'll need a good script) I figured simple, static shots might work quite well for it.

I mean, I'm not only looking at these from a practical perspective, I've found a few books that can help with that. Most film maker books (Lynch on Lynch, Agitator etc.) I'll read purely out of interest and liking the film makers. Just wondering if there are practical things in those books too.
