tv If you could remake a movie/tv show.

We're all entitled to our opinions and beliefs. Some are more arguable than others, which is why we try to steer clear of such topics -- they are difficult to discuss without running the risk of offense. Let's put to rest the subject of religion at this point and turn this thread back on topic...

    Paper Man Promo

"Paper Man is the newest of these films. Jeff Daniels and Emma Stone give wonderful performances and explores the complexities of a platonic relationship between and older man and a teenager. " My guess is that the above line was the sole purpose for the post. I may be wrong, and I apologize if...

    Paper Man Promo

This is perhaps the best "Ad for a movie disguised as a discussion topic" I've ever seen. To answer your question, The Incredibles. A two-hour wallow in mid-life crisis pretending to be a kids movie.

    Question about video mixers

I have a specific need for a video mixer that will send its output signal to a PC via USB connection. Can someone suggest a brand or model that does this? If this is not standard, is there a device that will convert a standard A/V output signal to USB? Thanks!

archived-videos Black Sheep - Short Film in HD

Everything about the movie was very well done. Acting, camerawork, music/sound...all good. Your synopsis reveals a bit more of the story than you reveal in the actual movie. I might suggest scaling back the synopsis. For example - the line about "...they would live to regret." This is not...

    Hey, I'm Callum O'Neill!

This has got to be the longest welcome thread ever. WELCOME LADDY! I have attached my family tartan in a silly attempt to gain cred with my ancestoral kinfolk. Long live Johnnie Walker!

    Is this marketable?

TLAvideo.com does some pretty good business in this market. I'm not sure how they get their movies -- from distributors, or if they distribute by getting movies direct from filmmakers. Might be worth looking in to though. I'm sure they have a "contact" link somewhere on their site. Shane Ryan...

    Another Copyright Question

If you want to know about doing things "by the book" -- then this shot described above would also require permission from the publisher of the book. I worked for a major publishing company for several years, and they have a Permissions department set up specifically to deal with this type of...

    To you all

People have suggested this on this site several times before. If you want to try it, go for it...but I've never seen it happen yet. Where it typically breaks down is in the early concept phase. What is our story? Well, if you ask everyone for ideas, everyone will have one. And everyone who has...

sound Career from music is dead

There are ways to be a successful (ie: comfortably paid) composer, you just have to find the right avenues into the line of work. And no, making a CD of your music and putting for sale on the internet is not it. I'm sure the people who compose for Hollywood blockbusters are doing just fine.

    editing Chromakey - Green screen

I'm not an expert w Green screen but I have played with it. Your editing program should have settings in the chroma filter you apply to the clip. Somewhere in there should be a blur or blend level that will smooth out the transition between foreground and background. That should help with the...

Your first attempts at film making

My first experience was editing some footage that someone else shot (about 5 minutes worth). Don't really have a copy of that. My first actual movie-making project was Finger. http://www.bophe.com/Finger%20-%20The%20Movie%20(320x240).wmv

    Need recommendation for screen capture

Hello all, Does anyone have a suggestion / recommendation for a program that will capture and create a video file of real-time movements on a computer screen? For example, if a webcam talking-head is reading a tutorial and the mouse is moving to execute the directions, like browsing through a...
