    Types of film/DV...

Well i know pixar are going for shooting everying in 3d but they will still release 3d and non 3d verisons of it. Once it kicks off 3d will prob be huge but i think in terms of the cinema industry changing the way films are shown its the fact that their shooting digitial that'll start to change...

archived-videos Eat Meat - Grindhouse Style Trailer

Yeah its got that grindhouse style, made me smile (a good thing). I love the way Quentin Tarantino describes grindhouse cinema to Robert Rodriguez, "In any scene a lesbian kiss should be right around the corner"

    Types of film/DV...

Pixar are releasing all their films from Bolt onwards in digital and 3d. James Cameron did a talk for cinema managers at a Fox film day and he was raving about 3d but also digital. Pixar releasing everything in digital 3d means cinema's need to buy digital projectors in order to keep their...

    Eccentric directors/actors

Hitchcock would also spring to mind as being a bit eccentric. His elevator story is great. I actually met Quentin Tarantino and he's just as crazy and cool and eccentric face to face which was great :)

Experience with getting emergency services to appear in shorts

Well being as i work in a busy cinema i'm actually quite used to people talking to you like crap so i'm sure i can handle that :) I guess this is one of those things that can help seperate the good from the great? Making the effort to go out and ask for things where others may not for fear of...

Experience with getting emergency services to appear in shorts

Wow nice job getting that, I guess a pretty important part of indie film making is having the guts to go ask people for things, which i'm pretty ok with :) I guess the police are happy to do stuff 'on the cheap/free' as long as it wont show them in a negative way. I think i'll feel happier...

Experience with getting emergency services to appear in shorts

Hi all, as the title suggests i'm wondering if people have had experience with getting emergency services tp appear in your short. More specifically i'm thinking of in the UK and even more specifically the police. Currently writing a short i plan to shoot with some like minded friends and...

    Where do I start?

Take a pen and pad of paper around with you, no matter who you are, how much money or equiptment you have you can;t make a film without a script so you can always write or at least plan what you want to do. Write out what your planning in script format if you can and whenever you go out keep...

    film-school High Regarded Film Schools?

I'm afraid i can't offer any advice as i've been looking at film school in London (London Film Academy looks great) but the costs for a proper corse are crazy. The 1 year film making diploma was somehting like £17,000 which is way more than i could dream of affording and then if i did have that...

editing How to make a realistic gunshot?

You might try searching thorugh your dvd collection for some action/war films that would feature a lot of gunshots and look for commentaries by the crew rather than the cast, i watched the star wars episode 4 dvd commentary and it had the sound designer for the film, a guy called Ben Burtt...

Newbie here, want to introduce myself

To that end i carry a little notebook around with me (rather smart Dark Knight one i got from work) and if an idea pops into my head i scribble it down quickly. I have actually done a fair bit of research into the craft of screenwriting, i've read a few screenplays and have about 13 paperbacks...

Hi there, have spent an hour or so tonight browsing these forums and seems to be a wealth of knowledge and helpful filmakers from all walks of life here which is exactly what i need. I toyed with the idea of getting into the film industry for years now and have always seen writing as the way...
