Kickstarter movie campaign raises $1.6 million in less than 24 hours

Exactly. The studio execs did not feel there was enough interest for Veronica Mars film. $2 million + raised within 24 hours is proof there is enough interest IMO. Good for them. I hope they succeed and do amazing things. Inspiration for all.

How do you write a screenplay to an adapted screenplay?

Depending on the works you are adapting. If you have the rights to adapt a well-known novel then that may be a great route to take because of the built-in fan base and support.

    editing trailer question

It's "voluntary"; however it really boils down to industry politics. Some decline to submit to the rating system due to potential effects on revenues (NC-17) but it's rare., Ratings have basically become a de facto compulsory status in the industry. You pay to have your movie reviewed and rated.

A small amount may do it because they believe in what you are doing, but just because they believe in what you are doing doesn't mean they will want to toss you their...

What rewards work best for crowdfunding?

You have to think about what you would think would be worth the pledge/$$. $10 - Special Thank You in the movie credits & a digital download of the film - Will work pretty good. $20 level - A DVD is good. I found that most people paid the $20-25 level pledges for a physical DVD for my own...
