[Mar 20] What are you working on this week?

Wedding videography! That's my new thing, as of yesterday. I've flirted with the idea for months, finally decided to pull the trigger. I will continue working in restaurants, cuz I kinda have to, but only for two days per week. The rest of the week shall be dedicated to the camera. :D

[Mar 20] What are you working on this week?

C-Chap, that's exciting news! Please keep us posted. SFoster, even when you're doing nothing, you're never not doing nothing. Let that one rattle around your brain. Me? I have numerous projects in various stages of development. The big one, of course, is the next feature. In addition to...

Tripod with wheels that goes straight without a track?

Pickup truck, wheelchair, stroller, these all make great dollies. You could, of course, head on down to the local hardware store, spend about $20, and construct your own.

    Editor

Sorry editor, we already have one of those here, and like Highlander, there can be only one. ;) Just kidding. Welcome to the Thunderdome! There's actually a small handful of us on this site. Stick around and be an active member. In time, you will find projects to work on. Best wishes!

    Those breakthrough moments

When the story you're working on flips on its head. For me, it always happens at some random time during the day, when I'm not even thinking about my screenplay. Something someone says, or something I see, makes me think about my story and the whole world stops in its tracks. The screenplay...

thoughts on a $500 camcorder for a improv comedy feature shoot

Indeed, this is very true. I was really satisfied with the performance of my T2i (considering the price). However, it doesn't meet the OP's requirements. Yes, it has input for external audio, but you can't monitor it. And recording audio without monitoring it would be like recording video...

Brand new and on a budget - Need help with camera choice.

Ditto again. 18-55 is versatile. Anything longer is impractical.

Brand new and on a budget - Need help with camera choice.

Welcome to the Thunderdome, Shin! I half-agree with El Director. I shot a feature film on the T2i and it serviced me well for many other projects. I do think it's a great "starter" camera. That being said, the reason I only "half-agree" with El Director is because there's one thing I really...

    Will my IMDB Number change?

I'mmm number 1! I'mmm number 1! I'mmm number 1! I'mmm number 1! Sorry, couldn't resist. There was another dude by the same name, but he's not on IMDB cuz they don't list dead German (non-film) composers. Sorry, Dead Joseph Weindl, but we're like Highlander! :P

    What's Up? I'm back

I'm interested. That's not a commitment of any sort, but we should chat some time. mussonman, to answer your question, I have numerous projects in various stages of development. ;)

Editor that highlights high motion / high sound parts of video?

jax beat me to it. This also how I would tackle the problem. Premiere also has the same capability, as would pretty much any editing software. You can "zoom in", for lack of a better word, then just scroll through the footage until you see a spike in the waveform.

What's so great about the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy?

 Gladly. I'm a Belieber! *sits back and allows everyone else in the room to question whether or not I'm joking. As for the original question asked, I believe I know the answer. In my "day-job" I work in restaurants. You wouldn't believe how many people think they're being "naughty" when...

    Avoiding Being Tone-deaf

+1 When I produce a new song, I pretty much always LOVE it, right off the bat. After all, I wouldn't have recorded it if I didn't think it sounded good. And then I step away from it. For weeks, I won't revisit the song, not even one bit. After some time away, I give it a listen. Sometimes I...
