a Halloween article in Videomaker Magazine

Great article. I learned something I didn't know with the Star Trek shot. That is a pretty cool trick. Also I am sure a lot of people will be using the blood recipes.

    Short film vs. feature length

Let me start this by saying the following: I have not completed a short film or feature film yet. However that being said I am in the preproduction phase of my first short film that will be around 15-20 minutes. There are several reasons I chose to go this route without jumping feet first...

    Best Boom Mic for FS100.

I agree with you Directorik. I don't feel I was lead astray. I have asked a couple of people some questions in private about this thread. I had honestly forgot about it. I am going to try to use the mic that comes with my FS 100 on a pole first with a tascam and if I don't like that then I...

How to creat that scary jump scene?

I must be odd. I like original jump scares. One of my favorite right now would be from The Woman In Black when the main character touches a handprint on the window. That actually made me jump and I even expected something to happen. However the way they shot it worked extremely well as did...

How to creat that scary jump scene?

Build up of tension and suspense with the added effect of great ambient sounds and music is what makes jump scares effective. That and coming up with creative new ones that haven't been done to death, pardon the pun.

They used Magic Bullet's Looks for this film. It was a promo by the company to display the different styles that looks comes with. It is sold separately or as part of the Magic Bullet Suite. The Suite is $800 or $400 for the academic version. Hope that helps.
