Hey, I'm in Liverpool too. (And I'm also called John) Get in touch if you ever need a score . :)

    archived-videos Delura: a 3d sci-fi animated series

I enjoyed it a lot. Everything looks really professional. I'd agree that the dialogue needs more priority in the mix, but it looks like you've already addressed that.

    British Filmmakers

Hello, I'm John and I'm a student in Liverpool. I'm a composer and pianist, and I am currently working on two short film soundtracks for students on film studies courses, two game mod soundtracks, and producing the first album for my band with my girlfriend. I'm also working on a screenplay...

Will my movie get an NC-17 if....?

It's probably not the best idea to push the horror genre further over the line than it's already gone in the last decade. It's clear that you're writing these things into the plot just for the sake of shock value, and unless you're filming a historical account of what the more psychopathic...

    De-3D Glasses

However, also on this side of the pond, (at least where I am) the cinemas have 3D and regular screenings, which would make de-3D glasses a huge waste of money as the non-3D screenings cost less to go to.

Tinalera's April Fool's Freaky Funk Fantastic Film Fest

I'm looking forward to this one, I'm going to my girlfriend's home in India in the summer and am going to be seeing some Macaque monkeys myself. Do you need a bit of background music for the documentary? It shouldn't take me long to put something together, if you're interested that is. :)

    Super Short Documentary

I'd imagine you have to focus on one aspect of the subject and be much more brief about everything that surrounds it. Your lecturer suggests that you should focus on event, the pastry chef making a cake, discuss that in detail, but only briefly discuss other parts of his work, his life...

    I'm stoked :)

Christ, one of his previous roles is listed on IMDB simply as 'rapist'.

story Any suggestions on how I can finish this storyline

I don't think you should show the face. The most important part of the end of the film is his reaction and his closure, I don't think that you should obscure that by bringing in new things. If the whole of the rest of the film is about his love, his memories, and his torture, then I don't think...

Spider, short film from down under

I remember seeing that a while ago. Isn't it common practice to post the video?

Just for fun - create your Super Team.

Mr Badger of The Wind in the Willows, for his incredible gift for strategy. Charizard. Toothless the Night Fury. 47 (preferably of the game not the film), for situations that don't call for dragon or badger centric tactics.

    archived-videos H3ART : short film

The sound in the dialogue scene seemed fine from where I'm sitting, but the voices at 2:35 are a little too low. So is the environmental sound in the following shots, which is barely audible. I also noticed that the sound from 1:29 to 1:55 only came through the left channel. (Not including the...

Tinalera's April Fool's Freaky Funk Fantastic Film Fest

Even in the worst case scenario is still a bit of experience for both of us. And I'm sure you're being modest. And my third argument: Please.. come on.. Apart from the friend's degree short I'm working on, two of the projects I was looking forward to were cancelled and the other decided to...

    The Future of Film

True, the digital age is changing the video market. Every couple of years there's a new format and a new piece of hardware, and it's starting to look like only the rich or obsessive can keep up. Of course there's downloads as well. But I think books are a different thing- video technology has...

    Next up: Ingmar Bergman

I love the 'Seventh Seal'. My girlfriend had an exam on it last year for Philosophy degree, so we got to take our time watching it and make a lot of notes on symbology and religious and philosophical references, it was great fun.

    What was filmed near you?

The Dark Knight, Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, The Hunt for Red October, Across the Universe, In the Name of the Father, Alfie, Formula 51. Apparantly. Although I'm sure I know other films that were shot here and I didn't hear about some of these.

movies What's the last film you watched? And rate it!

The first few times I saw the trailer for Battle LA on the TV I thought it was the sequel to District 9. Evidence that it's completely derived by producers who saw the success of the film and thought they could do the same thing. And partly evidence that I should wear my glasses.
