The segment taking shape in my mind is most definitely drama. I'd recommend we stick with a serious tone since it's life and death we're dealing with. Although we need to assign at least one unit as the recipient of the "prize" in order to move the story to its climax.

Please, let's not get into a debate about gun control. Gun control won't stop criminals from getting them (especially given the weak southern border at the moment). And in a home invasion scenario, moreso in rural areas, by the time the police showed up you'd be dead. I will protect myself...

My Canon XL1s has a detachable stereo directional microphone. Looks like a mini shotgun. I could easily mount a different shotgun mic on it with XLR if I wanted to.

Yeah, not much thought went into it. I just sat down and threw something out at random. Only spent a couple of minutes on it, and the whole "planet" thing was spur of the moment. I had no idea it would make it into a poll. It was meant to spark debate and perpetuate brainstorming.
