    Shady SAG actor

If you have a contract then you have a contract. The fact that he violated his agreement with SAG is between him and SAG. You do not have any contracts with SAG, you are square. But you should really talk to a lawyer. Have the lawyer send this actor a letter stating the facts (that he signed a...

Can someone help me pick crowfuding site for my film?

Not to mention that they don't even have the dedication to throw in $20 of their own money to grease the wheels a little.

film-school Post-grad film school in USA

I've never heard Stanford mentioned as a 'film school' but I'm not as in-the-know as others here, I have always thought of it as more of a law school. I've definitely heard good things about Columbia's programs, but again, I'm not sure that they have the prime, foot in the industry door...

film-school Post-grad film school in USA

I think NYU is considered one of the best out there. One of the UC schools, too. I'd say if you're gonna do it, go to the best or it's probably not worth it.

When it got to the shot of the full rig and it moving around, inside my head I said 'Oh, that's lovely' like an old northern english lady. And I'm not even a gearhead.

I didn't understand the plot to Rosemary's Baby.

As my father would say: "because it's in the script." Or to put it another way, if every character behaved sensibly and every plot was whole and logical, films would be a snoozefest, and probably no longer than 10 minutes apiece.

    I didn't like Dr. Strangelove

Maybe it's a generational thing, but as a youngish person I think it's one of the most hilarious films out there. To me, the dark humor, satire, and just plain absurdity of a few of the characters is wonderful. If you don't get the humor, or if the humor isn't your taste, I can see how you...

    Edge of Tomorrow - Renamed!?

I thought people didn't like Cruise because he's all weird and manic and a big shill for scientology and their ideologies... remember when he told that one actress that her postpartum depression wasn't real and that the medications were bad for her? Yeah, imho that's pretty fucked. Maybe I was...

    5 Minute Portrait Piece

Forgive me if this doesn't fit the assignment, but could you do some sort of simple animation to illustrate some of his statements? You film/animate it in a way that implies what we see is coming from inside his head, thus fulfilling the 'personal' quota? idk, just a thought. :)

    It's Time Again... MidKnightly 2013!

What say ye? We gonna do this again? I'd like to think I can pop off a short by the end of the month, but if not, I'm down for helping out to mobilize the IT troops. Haven't seen Knightly on here much lately. What does Dear Leader think?

A7S and GH4 - what are your thoughts on them?

Tbh, neither are that expensive to rent through borrowlenses. I would say, given the price of the cameras, it would be a worthwhile to invest $300 in getting your hands on both for a week and see which one you like better.

    Kickstarter issue

I think kickstarter is just at it's saturation point where films are concerned. It's a good platform and safe landing page for friends, family, and fans to gather and donate, but you need to do the legwork 100% outside of the site. How many people have you called and asked outright for money...
