    Forget WAB, use FilmFreeway!

I don't think that problem is exclusive to any one website, though. A fool and his money etc., etc...

    Forget WAB, use FilmFreeway!

Never heard of it. But their website UI is definitely heads and tails above WAB. That user-friendliness alone appeals. I'll keep them in mind, especially if it's any cheaper. Any word on how they treat the festivals themselves? I've heard some complaints that WAB isn't very nice to them. And...

    Building a workstation pc

Bullet points: as much RAM as possible, good processor (I don't think this matters as much as long as it's relatively fast and a quad-core), good graphics card with it's own memory, and a solid state drive to run your OS off of.

    Unstuck Production Diary

Yeah, I would have suggested renting a uHaul or something. But here you only get the "cheap" rate if it's a one-day-only thing. I suppose I probably would look into borrowing a larger car. Cause at least in America you can count on if you don't own a truck or SUV, someone else surely does. On a...

Nice! You survived! Congrats on completing the first leg of photography! The problems you encountered sound pretty par for the course, and it seems like you took them in stride and didn't let it derail the project. Pat yourself on the back, dude. How much more shooting do you have? In my...

    archived-videos The Magic Circle

Watched it. I think it's a good pilot episode. It had me intrigued, as a huge potter fan, and it has an air that this is all setup for the real story. Which is good, because it left me wanting more. On the other hand it has the potential to not be good, as I probably wouldn't give it more than...

    editing selective sharpening

Hey now, some of us are still perfectly happy in the dark ages with CS6! This was going to be my suggestion. Though I'm not sure it's going to end up looking good. Blurry footage is one of the worst mistakes and hardest things to fix, imho. Worth a shot, though. edit: I don't think you even...

I'm almost 100% certain I've heard her say she wrote it for children, or rather, she wrote it for her childhood self. It's the book she always wanted to read as a child but it didn't exist. Which is why I think it works so well.

I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but I'm actually excited for this web series (not a sentence I thought I'd ever say). Wingardium Yutubiosa!

    Filming a Water Fountain

I think it's a combination of a few things. Composition: the fist video is framed really well, the buildings add nice lines as well as creating a sort of visual stage for the show. You video is just a water show with a black background. It's not bad but it's not as visually interesting. Focal...

Looks like you've got the important stuff well in hand. Don't sweat it. Just be ready to roll with the punches when they inevitably pop up, but if you're well prepared (as you seem to be) it will all be good. This happens to me every time I make something. Albeit, I generally get sick right...

    Movie Magic Scheduling

It's got a steep learning curve, but you can learn it if you really want to. Personally, though, where I'm at with filmmaking, I find that 90% of the program's features aren't things I need. So for me, it's not worth learning. I stick to the old-fashioned way of using breakdown sheets in word...

    Shady SAG actor

So it's OP who's being the stubborn one, then... The actor has him/her over a barrel. That blows, but it seems there is a way they can move forward. And if it's OP's only option, I say take it.

    Shady SAG actor

That's definitely the most puzzling part. Especially as OP says this is a "payday" for the crew, I would imagine they could just pay the actor the going SAG rate, too. It's all very odd.

    Shady SAG actor

Not necessarily, it depends on the state. H44 is talking about "one party" laws. You can Google a list of states that allow it. Not that I recommend such a convoluted solution to what is va simple (though unfortunate) problem.

Can someone help me pick crowfuding site for my film?

I don't like to pile on, but... Several people who have run successful crowdfunding campaigns have already chimed in in this thread. Some have even offered to give you more information if you're interested. Yet you ignored their posts. Hmmm.
