Film Festivals Receptive To Longer Short Drama Films?

hah I guess other festivals' requirements are too tight, so it's hard for longer stuff to get in. (Un?)fortunately my stuff has never been rejected because it was too long. I think it was mostly cuz what I did put them to sleep. Don't forget to look for places with no submission fees. It's...

    Anyone on Amazon Prime?

That's a nice way to live/work, congrats :) How many films a year do you usually make? And what's the biggest expense in your budget? I'm guessing it depends on the film. Amazon wants views, so I think a film will keep showing up as recommended as long as it gets views. That could partly...

movies What's the last film you watched? And rate it!

Interesting point. Replicants do seem more like genetically engineered organisms instead of humanoid robots/machines. But if it's left vague how they're made, then there's probably a big part of them that's still robot/machine instead of organism. So then it Is a big deal if they can reproduce...

Ya but if you make your brain think heavy thoughts & then do a lot of reps, won't it become stronger & leaner?

    Anyone on Amazon Prime?

How do you think the movie was able to get momentum? A really good trailer? A really good movie? A lot of Amazon reviews? What have you found to be the most successful way to promote your films? This is kinda interesting, how a guy in England got some pretty good Amazon views...

Keep your clips organized on the external drive & in your FCP library. The faster & easier you can find something, the better. If you don't know how to do something, you can find answers pretty quick by searching online.

    Oscars Nominees! Come discuss them!

I'm with you on that. I was a bit disappointed with Shape of Water. But I like Del Toro a lot so I'm glad it was nominated.

I couldn't get through 13 Assassins but I really like Blade of the Immortal, cool samurai film with a bit of a supernatural angle.

    The Disaster Artist

hehe Ya that's kinda crazy. But back then I guess it was impressive cuz it was a newer more natural acting style than what most people were doing.

    The Disaster Artist

Maybe he thinks he could make it even with the accent, like Schwarzenneger. He looked like he worked out a lot & he even sounds a bit like Arnold once in a while.

Does 2049 have good special features? I wanna see those. Have you seen the BTS docu on the 1st one called Dangerous Days? pretty amazing. I agree with you about 2049 suffering from being created in these times & with Scott not directing. I wish he had done this, I think it would have a better...

    The Disaster Artist

Okay I edited the post, hopefully it's clearer. I meant real life Tommy seems a bit more normal compared to Franco's portrayal in TDA.

    The Disaster Artist

I wonder, Tommy dramatizing really loud in class or in a restaurant looked really weird in TDA, but maybe when Tommy did that in real life, he was just excited to be acting (like his hero James Dean), & he just hadn't gotten enough training yet to know he was overacting. I wonder if anyone here...

If you're a fan of certain YT'ers & comment regularly on their videos you can try reaching out to them. If you're starting out, the best way is to make a really great film. What's it about? Try to figure out who'd be most interested in your subject & how it's presented, & then target those...
