I'm gonna have to rent/watch these. Heh. I wish I could use Netflix's Instant Watch, but I'm stuck on a satellite connection. It's faster than bloody dial-up, but I have a bandwidth limit and something like a movie on Netflix would pretty much obliterate that limit.

I liked it, too. You've really got that dialog rocking and rolling. To be perfectly honest no suggestions for changes come to mind.

I hate that, too, which is why I usually load up my evenings with movies, reading and TV shows. I'm at the computer writing for several hours a day, so I'm usually pretty burned out on being anywhere near this thing by the time the sun goes down.

If it is an exercise then it's a great idea. I've been meaning to at least try that for ages now.

That's how I've felt every single day since I was about twelve. It's also the root of a joke I tell people where I say that in retrospect I probably should have gone to that ditch-digging seminar when I had the chance.

Great post, man. Thanks for sharing your experiences like that. Having a bit of a sense of humor definitely seems to help the atmosphere on a set. It's one of the few things I know I'd have down to the letter.

One thing I really need to learn to do with my short films is hone them down to that fifteen-minute mark. I'm a decent editor with fiction, poetry and the like, but I seem to have the hardest time cutting down film scripts. I'm not sure why. You'd be amazed what a good storyteller can do with...

Unfortunately I don't think I've got the time to get in on this, but it's a wonderful idea. Hopefully it'll be around next year.

Vantage Point is a good example. Although it wasn't as good a movie as I had hoped it would be. Certainly one could use it as a case study though.

It definitely has a TV-movie vibe going for it. There's certainly nothing wrong with that. I like the Rashomon treatment as well. And the execution of a good idea tends to be the tricky part for me, too. Heh.

Absolutely, but I don't think age should slow you down. It's good to be realistic, but at the same time you shouldn't let being thirty-two stop you from trying in the least.

Amazingly that was one of the most difficult things I had to remember when writing my first screenplay. I'm still not sure I got the damn thing right, and I'm not at all sure why it was such a pain in the ass in the first place. I felt like an idiot.
