Would such a thing be possible?

My advice is get a writing partner. Also, create a contract upfront that says who owns what part of the script. I've seen some bad things happen over co-writtren scripts. Scott

    lighting Lighting hard with flourescents.

You're fighting an uphill battle. Fluorescent light is always going to soft. Your request is kind of like saying I want to jump in the ocean and not get wet. Tungsten or halogen is the way to go. There are a few focusable LED lights out there now, too...

The GH2, holy price jump batman!

I picked up my GH2 from B&H in December for $499 and am loving it. I already had a cheap zoom for it and picked up the 17mm pancake which is very fast. I'm thinking about the Panasonic 12-36mm zoom. I own an Panasonic AF100 too so I can share the lenses. Scott

Can You Justify Hundreds of Millions?

I remember reading an interview with John Sayles back in the 1980s and he was asked what he would do if somebody gave him $40 million to make a movie (this was back when $40 mil was a lot of money) and he said he would make the movie for $2-3 million and give the rest to people who could really...

Would like advice on formats for video

As others have said, the camera is not where you should be focusing. The best cameras can have their footage edited and compressed down to half the size your mention. You need to look at your edit program and learn how to use it to compress the final edited project down to the right size...

Seeing If I'm Buying A Good Camera

As others have said, the Canon GL1 was a great camera back in the day, but it does not shoot HD so I would recommend not getting it. I'm not sure I'd get a DSLR if I were you. Sounds like you're a beginner and need a simple, easy to use camera. I'd look at something like the Canon VIXIA HF...

Is this JVC a better buy than the Black Magic Cinema Camera?

The JVC is a Frankenstein camera. Recording to 4 separate SD cards to get 4K? What could go wrong with that idea? A lot. To JVC's credit, they were the first into HD in lower cost camcorders, but they always have their quirks. Btw, I own three JVC cameras so I'm not a JVC hater. Scott

An inexpensive place to find library music is www.footagefirm.com $8.41 a disk for royalty free music. A great source of loops which can use in garage band or ACID. They have a big Hollywood sound. https://www.videocopilot.net/products/proscores/ Finally, my favorite source for music is...

Ohio film group looking for films to screen

Hi Folks, MOFA (Mid Ohio Filmmakers Association) is looking for indie features to screen. We are working with a couple local theaters. We are looking for solid movies of any genre (although we're already somewhat loaded with horror, but if it's good we'll consider it.) Right now, we can't...

lighting Is this a good lighting kit?

For the money it's ok. You're not going to get much punch from it. Softboxes are great for small setups like interviews or a couple people talking in a scene, but don't expect to light large spaces. I would recommend 2 lights like the ones in the kit and then some kind of light that you can...

    cinematography $15 LED Backlitght

I was looking for a reading light for my office and I stumbled across this little LED light at Ikea. I liked it so I bought on and took it home. Once I got it home I realized it might make a great little backlight. I tried it out on a couple of interviews I shot and it worked great. Check...

    Super 16mm or Red Epic???

You may want to consider 35mm and short ends. I've been able to snag 35mm short ends for .20 a foot. If you can can get your hands on a camera that shoots 3-perf, that will save you money too. I have shot two features on 70% short ends with almost no problems. Scott
