I am a visual creator and have always felt that there should be a way to grow our talent with feedback of professional talent. I am working on this.

Do you believe that we should seek the validation of experienced and talented professionals rather than those who have limited understanding of the medium and specialty we are creating? With so many businesses that offer awards, why is there not a strong interest from creators in knowing the credentials of judges? Do you know that some work is sent to other countries for review? Do you know that many assigned judges do not have knowledge or experience with your specific type of work when they judge your work? Do you know that in some instances, it is only reviewed by one individual? Where are the published industry guidelines on what makes it great (like other industries have...ie. ISO 9000)? Where do you get your most credible validations for growth?

I would rather be judged by interested, passionate amateurs than experienced
and talented professionals. Far too many professionals with a deep understanding
of the medium and specialty have become jaded.

As a writer and film maker I don't need to know the credentials of someone
commenting on my work. If I made them laugh, or scared them, or surprised them
I don't care what their background is. If I didn't and they dislike what I created I
don't need to know their credentials. What they feel when reading or watching
is all that matters to me.

I do not seek validation from anyone. As a creator I seek only reaction.

Where are the published industry guidelines on what makes it great (like other industries have...ie. ISO 9000)?

Perhaps there are no published industry guidelines on what make something great
is because there is no consensus on what is great. Can there really be industry guidelines
on what makes anything great?

Is a meal that I love not “great” because a professional chef says it isn't?

Is a movie I think is terrible “great” because a talented professional with amazing
credentials says it is?
