Filmmaking support

I'm an aspiring filmmaker. I really want to get started making some indie films but I'm not even sure where to begin. I haven't made a movie since I was a kid making them with my brother. Even those were crappy YouTube ones. I'm a decent writer and feel I have good ideas but the problem is since graduating high school all my friends have kind of vanished. Filmmaking isn't a one person job, otherwise I would be way further than I am. Unfortunately you have to find people and even harder than that is finding people that are reliable and share your passion. I hoped this forum might help me a bit.

Honestly finding people becomes a non-issue when you have an idea and a plan.

Without a focus, it becomes a struggle fest of saying "I want to... But" and that usually gets people to run the other way.

I am NOT a people person, I have terrible social skills, but somehow it still works out. I think people trust me to get my films done come hell or high water. Sometimes, with the right amount of fire and passion, you can pull through.

That said, having people skills would help me work with other visionaries. I want to work with others, but the hardest part is giving up your vision and dream for another person.

It makes me appreciate and respect people who help others realize their dream. It is an unbelievable sacrifice. You have to let go of yourself and trust the other people working with you.
