Do you have to have a degree to be a pro screenwriter???

Ray, you crack me up :D You're obviously a master of the language and it's great to see it being satirised (English or American English..?) like this. Thanks, big grin on my face :D Steve

    Short Script Feedback

I think it's playful - showing a moment of someone stoned alone while watching horror. And I agree with Richy - if you're showing your scripts to anyone they should definitely be free of camera directions and over-used parentheses. Have you read the script to 'Alien'? It's the most beautifully...

    Im completely new

Hi Blankso, you should start by reading this book, it is gold: Syd Field's 'Screenplay'. You should also read a script and then watch the movie just so you can see how they relate (while having fresh in your mind the plot points and key incidents, for example). Also, unless no-one else is...

    watch Underwater dance film

The first issue we encountered was that the swimming pool management somehow got it into their heads that we'd be filming in the paddling pool...the water didn't even reach the port :D After that, it was just the usual: talent getting tired, tape changes, etc. Water does filter reds and yellows...

    Pro Mini-DV vs. Consumer HD

I think format for delivery should be considered also - if you're going online or to DVD then SD is fine, but if you're workflow can handle higher res and the delivery is for screen or blueray then HD format should be your choice. However, ALWAYS go with that which affords you more choice...

    lighting cameraman

The Director of photography more often than not will not operate the camera. I'm not saying the DoP (DP) doesn't occasionally operate, but as the HOD they will usually have a crew to focus/operate/assist/grip etc. A cinematographer is anyone with technical proficiency who uses light...
