Anyone recommend a good SFX program?

Thanks for all the advice. Yeah, I am more concerned with committing to a good effects program than the actual price. You both have given me a lot to think about. Thanks again!

Anyone recommend a good SFX program?

Thanks for the help guys. Those Fusion videos were great... though I can't stand it when narrators of these types of videos constantly say "uhhh" and "uhmmm" after every sentance :grrr: Fusion pricing is way out of my league. And like Oak said, the cheaper ones seem to fall a bit short. I'll...

Anyone recommend a good SFX program?

I'm looking into doing some CGI effects... you know, greenscreen shots, digital blood splatter, etc etc. Any recommendations? Someone told me about Visionlab over at FXhome.com. Looks pretty good and a low price. Any others that people know of and have tried?

One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest

I really did not like the film "Million Dollar Baby" for that very reason. Even more so because the story did a complete and unexpected 180 on me right in the middle. It was built up a certain way, and I was looking forward to a warm and inspired ending :grumpy:

Need help with a movie title...

I found it before anyone responded, so I figured no one even cared. And then people started guessing, so I didn't want to spoil the fun. The movie was "No Such Thing", which was made in Iceland (not Ireland) in 2001. I never saw it, but I remembered it was a movie I had wanted to see.

Need help with a movie title...

There was a foreign movie that came out maybe 4-6 years ago about a woman who goes to interview a reclusive monster and falls in love with him (i think). For some reason I think it was an Irish movie, but I could be wrong. Pretty vague, I know :D

Student Filmmaker Seeking Advice On Funding

In regards to shooting on film, there are some other factors to consider in addition to the film's cost. There are additional costs for the development, as well as the eventual transfer to digital format for editing (unless you were planning on editing it old school). Each step means sending the...

    Method/Procedure to Cast Actors

You need to look into Breakdown Services They are a service that collects all the casting notices each day and distrbutes them to all the Agencies in town. It's really the only way to get your casting notice in front of the eyes of legit agents. And in your listing you can give a synopsis of...

Who wants to read a script??! Yay!

Good point about the name. We both knew a weird guy named Seymour, which is who we loosely based him on. But if his names brings up images of a "nerd" type guy, that isn't a good thing. I'll add this to my growing list of changes needed. Thanks :)
