    My big fat redneck headache

We watched them do multiple takes of some of the stuff. Had never expected that level of fakery. I always heard about the Producer coaching/manipulation, but ear pieces is pretty extreme. I thought this was supposed to be cheaper than scripted television. Where is the cost savings? They had a...

    My big fat redneck headache

Weirdest day of our film shoot so far. Had our location crashed by a reality TV crew showing up to shoot an episode of "My Big Fat Redneck Vacation." The frustration aside of getting our shots while they kept getting in the background, I was shocked to see such a large crew for a reality show. I...

    What are you working on?

Currently in the last couple weeks of shooting what will be our second feature. Horror/Comedy. Have been blessed with an amazing cast. Have a painful amount of post work ahead of us though. Hope to be done this time next year. Hitting AFM in Santa Monica coming up in November for fun.

    AFM - American Film Market

I will be in LA for the AFM in Santa Monica this year, mainly to see friends and check it out. I have never been to one. Is anyone here going to be attending, and has anyone here ever sold a film at the AFM or worked it otherwise? Would love to hear.

    EF-S lenses on a Canon 5D - any luck?

Currently shooting a project on a Canon 5D. Looking at a 10-22mm EF-S lens to help with a scene coming up, but want to know if anyone here has tried modifying an EF-S to work with a full frame camera like the 5D and has it worked? I've seen posts online at other sites about modifying the lens...

"Devil Inside" Has anyone seen this yet?

I haven't heard of any of those movies. Have any of them received distribution? I didn't expect he was a first time director, but I am curious whether the movie was independently funded and then sold to Paramount or if he had a previous relationship with them and they hired him and provided the...

"Devil Inside" Has anyone seen this yet?

By "backstory," I'm referring to the story that it was a micro-budget indie film that was discovered and purchased by Paramount for a million dollars and made $30mil its first weekend. If this is true then it should be seen as a success story for indie filmmakers. If this is just marketing hype...

    Clearances for Public Authorities

Using eBay as our source we were able to purchase authentic patches and badges for a county sheriff's department. It is not a well known department so it is much different than having LAPD or NYPD written on something. We modified a car as well but when we transported it to our location, we...

"Devil Inside" Has anyone seen this yet?

I've been off the board for a few months so I don't know if there is a running thread on this movie under a different heading, but the last few days I've seen tons of articles about this "micro-budget" horror, purchased by Paramount for "$1 million," and is now making gobs of money even though...

One thing I hate about film festivals.

Totally agree with Dirty. That's the best way to do it if you can afford the pass.

Coming to Terms (or scaling down film making expectations)

My original goal was the filthy rich filmmaker, but I have to admit the added pressure of building a career around filmmaking was too much for me personally. I was constantly second guessing myself in my writing and cinematography and terrified of making the wrong move. ie. if the movie fails I...
