"Found Footage" style of filmmaking -- gimmick?

I found that the way the main character in particular handled the camera added to his character. When he was lonesome, he made it float. When he was enraged, it jerked more. When he was solemn, he steadied it. I felt like every time the camera moved it in some way connected to the emotions...

watch "The Most of It" - a Comedy Short

Funny think about that! I actually had a scene with the last date in the original script but because of not being able to find an actress to play the part and also scheduling reason with the set we were using, it was cut out and not filmed at the last minute. My thought that if the audience...

    Computer for running Premier

Definitely go for the iMac if you're willing to spend a couple extra bucks. I run CS5.5 on the latest iMac with 8gb of ram and it is PERFECT. It's ridiculously fast and the results are amazing.

If I were to go the route of separate recording, what would be the best way to sync the video to audio in post?

    Finally, Done Deal

I personally prefer Premiere because of it's ridiculously fast interface with the 64bit and all. And, it's much more like FCP7 and the switch over is almost seamless.

    DSLR Audio Solutions?

Hey indietalk! So, I have a Canon 7D with a Rode Videomic pro that I have been using for quite some time but I notice that the AGC is really killing the audio. I've researched solutions to this and the best I can find without using MagicLantern because I don't want to mess up my warranty is...

Wow! Thanks ThatGuyFromThatPlace! When I posted this, I had no idea I would get such an in depth critique as you posted. It really helped me out to find the parts that could be better so I don't make similar mistakes in the future. Thanks again! :)

    New Feature Film Idea

Great! The idea presented is broad enough to where you could pull either a short OR a feature from it. I say go with the feature because, at least, I see a million and two different directions you could go with this and the idea is solid and something interesting!
