Is this level of historical inaccuracy acceptable?

Problem is that you would need a ridiculous amount of that explosive to do the same job as a barrel of dynamite would.

Is this level of historical inaccuracy acceptable?

I'm writing a story set in the 1840s/1850s, and I need one of the characters to use dynamite. However, dynamite wasn't invented until about 20 years later. I did some research and there were other kinds of explosives in existence then, but none of them would be capable of the destruction I want...

    Logline critiques

I think it's too complicated. There must be a way to describe the nature of the protagonist without including his mother. You didn't include her last time, so I'm guessing she's not that important. Also, I noticed you added clear antagonists, probably someone told you that your previous logline...

    Logline critiques

''Charismatic princess'' is not exactly descriptive. After reading it, I think it's a kind of ''biopic'' about the prince and the princess's rule, is that right? If so, then it's a good, although I would ''dumb down'' the second half a bit. It's a bit difficult to understand.

    BLACK WIDOW SCREENPLAY

Hey! If it's just for fun, I would sure love to see it, might even give you some feedback.

    Does this logline work?

You totally missed my point. I meant that the logline establishes way too many questions, and we have no idea what the movie was supposed to be about. Maybe you would buy a ticket because it sounds like a fine crime drama, then it turns out that it's actually a relationship drama and there is no...

    Does this logline work?

I have no idea what the movie is supposed to be about. Who are the protagonists? The couple? Were they the ones arguing? If so, who is the victim? Your logline raises way too many questions, and not the ''damn I have to see this movie'' questions, but the ''hold on... what?'' questions. Also I...

So my protagonist is quite unlikeable?

Well, the idea is still in that early stage where things might change in half a minute. Since then I realized that I can write the story in such a way that the stalking will seem justified. I'm not exactly going for a ''bad guy protagonist'' here, so I think this will serve the plot better.

So my protagonist is quite unlikeable?

    Thanks for the advice :)

So my protagonist is quite unlikeable?

I've come up with an idea for a mystery screenplay, which I think could be really interesting. But the protagonist is basically a stalker, who's following his high-school crush around. I was wondering if you had any tips on how to make a protagonist like that likeable? I know it's possible. In...

    How important in historical accuracy?

Holy moly, that's amazing. Why didn't I think of that?

    How important in historical accuracy?

Let's say my story takes place in the 1850s. It's not a historical epic or a biography, it's a totally made up story with fictional characters, but it takes place during a known European revolution. How important is historical accuracy in a case like this? For example, would it be unacceptable...

How to find the time to watch and MAKE movies at the same time?

The question is aimed mainly at people who don't (or don't yet) work full time as filmmakers. How do you guys find the time to shoot, write, edit, act etc. and watch movies WHILE attending school (or working) and paying attention to your social lives? I know that just like a writer has to...

[Mar 5] What are you working on this week?

May I ask what it's about? I'm always interested in what topics other people choose, it tells a lot about them. You don't have to be specific, just the event it's based on is enough for me :)
