I recently took upon the task of filming a short horror film for an upcoming festival. However this is the first time i've ever attempted to film/direct the film. any good tips on how to make the suspense of the scene come through and maybe even be amplified in the shots? thanks all.

also i've heard about a firmware called magic lantern. I do own the original rebel Xti. would magic lantern update this to allow video recording? it currently does not have a video function.

I haven't heard too much about the cameras you mentioned. I'm assuming the 650D would be the better choice as it seems to be a later model? any help is great.

I do have a boom pole, headphones, wind protection, and a shock mount. but i do not have a separate recorder. forgive my ignorance:blush: but wouldn't the recording in the camera itself suffice?

i agree, i think that cinematography and delivery are a big part of making the film interesting and in some cases can save a bad script, but it only stretches so far. Even some really great actors may not be able to save a terrible story with improv
