What's the easiest way to do this?

Question, most DVD's are 24 fps right? I'm using WinX DVD Ripper (Trial) and it always converts to 30 fps (six extra frames I would rather not have to deal with). What DVD ripper and format can I use to get the exact same 24 fps on the original DVD? Thanks

What's the easiest way to do this?

LOL, no I specifically looking to see if I could replace the text in the movie with words of my own. The idea would be her playing the video thinking it was the actual clip from the movie. Do you think this guy did it frame by frame or was there an easier way to overlap the text over the...

What's the easiest way to do this?

Hi Folks, I have a personal project I would like to do for my wife. One of our favorite movies is Love Actually and the cue card scene. I want to do what this person did but substitute with my own words and pictures: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hEog14P_yo I love the way the author did...

How cheap is it to greenscreen this?

Thanks for all the information, I do appreciate it. Seems doable so I'll try some inexpensive ideas around it. I have a backup plan just in case, the characters could be placed in a "Pit of Despair" type area with just blackness or black walls all around.

How cheap is it to greenscreen this?

Hi folks, I'm contemplating scene in another dimension that I would like to greenscreen in a dark urban landscape composed of just city lights/torches (pretty much a static Photoshop pic). The actors will be standing on a plain square "platform." How expensive/difficult would it be to do this...

    Style of Screenwriting

It depends on who you are writing for and this aspect of screenwriting really REALLY frustrates me. If you are writing for a screenwriting contest feel free to add in all the useless but well written screen descriptions, action directions and other prose. It seems Nichols, Austin, etc. all...

    Song -> Film screenplay rights?

If you are making a parody of the song then you do not require the copyright holder's permission.

Producer Rep Fee? What should I do?

Threatened you?! Well, I think these guys just KlearGear'd themselves.

    Would someone really do this?

I don't doubt that. I was just saying it may be harder to get audiences to accept that. I assume the OP found it incredulous. EDIT: I think I recall finding it a bit incredulous myself in the film but after reading the novel the backstory made it plausible and also lended to the characters...

    Would someone really do this?

If I recall correctly, in the Godfather book Carlo had beaten up Connie right after the wedding when she wanted to keep some of the wedding gift money for herself. Connie went to her parents and Carlo was nervous as heck as to what would happen. But surprise, Connie came back and apologized to...

Waiting for tomorrow's announcement on the quarterfinalists. Good luck to everyone who entered! I entered my romantic comedy in the Comedy category. Crosses fingers...

How do you write plot turns without coincidences?

Other movies that have accomplished this are Crazy Stupid Love, Valentine's Day and Love Actually. The relationships that bring about the eventual meeting are setup in Act I not Act II so you'll need to rework Act I. Alcove Audio is right, you're probably going to have to kill parts of Act I...

    Is my premise believable?

Cops generally don't have the resources or the legal right to tail someone who has been acquitted and isn't suspected of any other crime. Probably a more interesting twist is to have the criminal friends of this vigilante's victims go after him. Or you can create a detective as an antagonist...

Coming up with a Story Idea

I fully agree with directorik. Story ideas are seriously a dime a dozen, even the good ones. It's the ability to take a good story idea and flesh it out to a fully written out screenplay that takes talent. You may find the below link amusing, I was on a screenwriting forum where there a...

Any Chinese star that is not a martial arts star?

The issue as Asian Americans see it, do you perceive Keanu Reeves as Asian and is he playing Asian roles? (47 Ronin is first I've ever seen his mixed background used) Of course not. Yet networks and Hollywood will track their background and issue official diversity reports listing them as...
