I also took that Dov Simens course. Before you approach anyone to write a screenplay, write the treatment and submit it to the WGA. otherwise they have every right to use your idea without crediting you in any way.

it almost invariably is finger oil. I train a LOT of newbies in theatre. lights with finger oil on them EXPLODE. violently. depending on the wattage and how much oil it can happen after one month or 30 seconds.

When you say HD, do you mean 720p, 1080p, 2K, or 4K External mic port; XLR, 1/4" or 3.5mm? Why do you need to buy it? (see my thread in newbies forum)

^ don't give stuff up. shoot your master and twopops. then your reactions, then your coverage, then your closeups. give yourself six minutes to light each shot. give the actors four minutes to rehearse in the space, with the costumes. then shoot.

you can put any CS4 Product on a mac. I dunno, keep your options open.

^this is very true. Until you decide on a specific position you want to hold it is unnecessary and unwise to buy excessive equipment. Unless you've chosen to be a DP of course.

It's not that hard to photoshop up something that looks like a screen from something (be it software, a desktop, etc.)

that said, when you're among the first to figure it out, it's still interesting... but it's been beaten to death.
