    HDMI to SDI Converter?

The A7s II only outputs 8-bit 4:2:2 over HDMI - recording it as 4:4:4 is just capturing empty bits.

    Wireless Video Transmitter/Reciever

The Teradek Bolt Pro 600 will work at up to 600' line of sight and comes in an HDMI model. Why would you need all four TX going to the same RX unit?

    Mounting DSLR to Glidecam

If the quick release base isn't holding, try connecting it at a second point (two 1/4" screws should suffice for a DSLR setup). This will stop it from twisting under its own weight, causing the screw to loosen.

Enough - no more threats or personal attacks. I'd rather not ban anyone but I will if this continues.

24-105mm Canon L lens, darker when zooming in?

I think you may do well to read your camera manual… the ratio given on the front of the lens (e.g. 1:1.8 or 1:4) is the maximum aperture value, not the only one. You can adjust the aperture from the maximum usually down to f/22 or so (often to completely closed on a fully manual lens).

    SFX forum

I'm sure a basic understanding of VFX would be useful, but Kingda Ka was asking about SFX (i.e. physical, practical effects on the set/in camera). I can't really answer the original question, but I would recommend reading The DV Rebel's Guide by Stu Maschwitz as a very helpful introduction to...

Where can I find a 16mm camera in UK?

Hey Joseph, I have a friend in London who owns an Aaton LTR and another who owns an ARRI SR2. Shoot me an email (me at olliecraig dot com) and I'll put you in touch with them. Cheers!

    canon 6D questions

The 6D will record a 1920*1080 frame at 91 Mbps (ALL-I) or 31 Mbps (IPB). Use ALL-I for the best picture quality. Shooting flat can be very useful but is not always appropriate. In a lower contrast situation (such as an interview with a controlled three point lighting setup) shooting very flat...

    How to????

As it's for a stills rather than motion shoot, this should be relatively easy to achieve with a couple of off-camera flashguns. You can tell from the shadows on the floor that there are two hard lights behind the players, one on either side, and I would guess a softer source from over the lens...

watch MTV Staying Alive: Kisumu, Kenya and Varanasi, India

Thanks! We used Sennheiser G3s, as a link between the camera and audio mixer and for wireless mics. The TX and RX units are both pretty small - you can see the receiver mounted on the camera in this photo, as modelled by our sound recordist: Licensed but I'm not sure where from; I'll try and...

    mp4 errors

Maybe I'm missing something very obvious, but why are you exporting the film in two parts in the first place? As Premiere and your Bluray encoder have problems with one file but not the other then I would suggest one of your files has corrupted. Some error messages would be very helpful. If...

Movi M5 vs BeSteady Plus One vs Sky Glide Cinema

You mention the payload a lot, but what camera are you planning to run on them? I've used the Movi with a stripped down Epic, anamorphic lenses and a C-motion with no problems - would you be using something heavier? Depending on how you want to shoot, it may be worth considering also buying a...

    GoPro cameras incar

You don't mention which model of GoPro you plan to use, but you should be able to shoot at 25fps (depending on resolution). In terms of sharpness and matching shots I would not be worried about intercutting with a 550D.
