Thanks for your feedback guys, appreciate it. I'll ask about the .pdf format. At the moment it's just warming up and establishing the characters, I think it gets a lot better. Cheers, Alan

how do yall write your scripts

If you're after a smaller book than the Screenwriter's Bible then I'd highly recommend Teach Yourself Screenwriting by Raymond G. Frensham It's very compact but full of the lots of information including movie examples. It'll tell you all you need about structure and plotting and much much more.

how do yall write your scripts

I think u may have to be a little bit more specific than that. If you want to learn more about the art of screenwriting I'd recommend The Screenwriter's Bible by David Trottier

    The F*Bomb

Tarantino Tarantino has his own unique style with swearing, i mean the opening scene of pulp fiction must use f**k after every word, but then there are also more creative ways of swearing. As long as they don't flood the dialogue and actually slow it down rather than give it more meaning or...

I must say though that the "scouring of the shire" may be a spoiler for the book but certainly it adds to the whole story in my mind. having a hard time staying on track

I agree with a lot of that that writing is about passion and having something to say and not about money etc but it is also possible to have huge passions for many things and sometimes it can be difficult to do many things at once. Doesnt mean you cant get some writing done, just thatll it take...

    Lord of the Rings?

Well my experience of LOTR is a little ignorant. I havent read the books although tried to when i was much younger when it was just one book :) Ive seen the animation which i liked a lot although they never could finish it. I thought the CGI was awesome especially during battle scenes. I think...

    Screenwriting Software

Is that how cheap FD is now? I went for Movie Magic because it looked more user friendly to me. I dunno, guess it just appealed more plus the 2000 version was supposed to have better or upgraded features. But then i havent used FD so dunno what its like. If youre serious then sure go for it but...
