I shot my last film on an iPhone and it turned out GREAT. Even won a nomination for cinematography. iPhones are just GREAT to film with.

I have heard a lot of good things about the DSLR. Its kinda crazy and cool to hear about people's "go to" Camera. I am learning that there are different cameras for different kinds of film. So, it's all based on what you're looking to film and the look feel you're going for.

I already have my own preference and camera I like to use so I don't need to re ask the question with those kind of specifics. I just wanted to know if there is a general consensus of "The best" Camera for the best performance and price tag. Just starting a discussion to see what everyone thinks.

Yes, it was! :) It was more Sci-Fi, Suspense, Drama & Mystery. The sequel to that film I'm currently working on will have gun fights and fist fights so It'll be heavier on the action & will show more Sci-Fi (Think The Fifth Element Mixed with Sin City with that 50's style).

In my case, that's actually a good point. Although I've seen low budget Sci-Fi indie films that look incredible. Writing smart is part of it but if there is a will there is a way.
