Quick help needed on a short (19 page) script

Title: Love Undying
Pages: 19
Logline: Five years after his wife's death, a man keeps an appointment with her.

Made it to the quarters, and have a short window until semis. They're allowing revisions before the semi-final judges read. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated, if you've got the time.

Muchos gracias!

Yes the idea of two spaces came from the era of typewriters. Because back then they used mono-spacing. All the characters had the same spaces between them so you couldn't differentiate the next sentence. Now they have double spacing, justifying etc. for when you type so there's no need.

I've tried repeatedly to communicate your excellent point to my thumb, but it insists, of it's own will and volition, to hit the space bar twice after a period. I've even considered amputation, but have reluctantly remembered that I need my thumb for grasping various objects including, but not limited to, beer cans, blunts and tacos.

Lol - And women's tits.

Sometimes you can't break old habits.

Great post as always, Quality. No comment at all on the script - just putting
a writer down for spacing.

I still use two spaces after each period in my scripts. Since it doesn't affect the
story or disrupt the flow no "reader" or producer has commented in it. Perhaps
"there is no need" but that's no reason to dismiss commenting on the script.

Charles, I'll read it later.

I only highlighted it because certain scholars would find it that two spaces after a period are an issue.

I would ask you what scholars but I know you can't back up this
statement. Two spaces after a period is common and accepted in
a script. Movie Magic and Final Draft both offer it as standard format.

Try College and University. Just people that think they're smarter than everyone acting like douche bags.

There is no widespread agreement as to one space or two. Surveyed English teachers in the US are split down the middle. The Chicago Manual of Style says one space, the Modern Language Association says one may be better, but two is perfectly fine.

I do know one thing, however. "Douchebag" is one word, not two. If you're going to insult respected members of this forum, at least do it right.

Cheers!

haha Dory, you kill me sfoster.

"Dorry wears a long dress, sweater and a long shawl over her
head. Except in flashbacks, that’s all we see of Dorry."
Charles, does this mean that after this point, Dorry will be out of view during the present time?

Nope. Just the fact that she's basically a skeleton is kept hidden.

I never insulted anyone on the forum. I was saying that the individuals in school are douchebags for always complaining about two spaces after a period is wrong, because they think they know everything. I have no problem with it. I was just explaining the history of the one space method because I thought he did not know.

I find the irony wonderful!

Adeimantus asked for suggestions or help. Quality observes that he
uses two spaces and points out that there is no need to do this. Then
Quality states that college and university people who think they are
better than everyone are the people who point out such a minor thing.
AND that those who mention it are douchebags.
