I shot this a few years ago:

BTW, I didn't add layers for texture: I flashed while using a long exposure time

And more recent:

My application to model mayhem was rejected because they said my photos were just personal snapshots.

I guess they didn't appreciate the pictures of my dog.
Maybe I should have done the squirrel.

Like I'm going to have to go inconvenience one of my female friends to model for me or something just so i can register.

Yeah they make it tough. Grrrr. The funny thing is I noticed at least one models recently with shots of themselves that seem to be pretty clearly selfies. Oh well. Whatever. Yeah I bet those'll do. You can register as a filmmaker too. But I think it might have said you need to show them four films as well? Do you have four films to show them? I wish I did. :)

I didn't see a film making option, but yeah I only have 3.5
And Friend Zoned, my first, was poorly received.

Damn now I feel like they're going to reject my screen shots as photography. I just want a couple topless models. Is that so much to ask?

Can models contact other models?
Maybe I can just register as a model, I've got plenty of professional pics of me I could upload.

Nope, my bad. Sorry about that.

I misremembered it (or was pulling things out of my ...). Strange, filmmaker as a designation is not included in the original categories drop-down list at the start of the application process. But on the requirements page it's included. So I would have to guess you'd probably list yourself as a photographer in the initial drop-down list, but identify as a filmmaker in your application for membership.

Membership Requirements

Filmmakers

Show Us Your Experience

In your biography, please include links that show your filmmaker experience – the more you have, the better. We're looking for IMDb pages, official credits, and at least one link to a video or trailer.

Show Us Your Work

In your portfolio, include at least 2 stills from your films, and 2 other images related to your filmmaking – behind the scenes images and promotional material may be posted with permission from the copyright holder. Be sure to caption them clearly: production title, date, your production role(s), etc.

So I would think you're easily good to go!

(I think I was remembering that photographers are supposed to include 4 separate photos of different models. And I thought I remembered it saying filmmakers needed 4 separate films, as well. Thankfully, that's not the case!)

Or yeah, members would be able to contact other members. So maybe your friend who is a member could do that for you. I'm just guessing that management would frown upon that, so maybe you'd want to be sure to do that quietly and carefully. Or maybe they really wouldn't care or bother.

Good luck! :)

Aw, no, don't be so sure. Give it a try. Or wait a minute, do you only get so many tries? Well, if you run out, I'll bet you can use a different email address. Or yeah, model members would be able to contact other members. So maybe your friend who is a member could do that for you.

I don't have any friends that are members but I could easily register myself as a model. Yeah you get 3 tries then you're out. i submitted my screen shots as photographs last night

Thanks richy, now I see your edit and that's really helpful

Sadly I am going to be rejected because I didn't include two "other images" related to film making.
I withdrew my request and will update my profile with this criteria.

Yeah, I feel bad I didn't go back and verify the requirements before posting earlier. Sorry about that. But I'm optimistic you'll get in with what you've got sooner or later. Just be sure to follow those requirements closely.

:)

It's my own stupid fault for not going to the requirements page.
I see they specifically point out that photos of animals don't count.

My dog has been my model for years though
