What is most important to you at this point in your filmmaking career?

I've been out of the business for a while, so I guess the most important thing to me right now is to get back on track. I'm changing direction in my video career and I'll be trying to figure out how to best market my skills and have that turn into gainful employment. -- spinner

    Hello Everyone! Hollywood Area?

Aww! Sage advice from Zen! ...he's right. Get off your butt and do something. You're not a filmmaker unless you're shooting something! :D -- spinner

    Virtual Machines

Yeah.... What happened last summer is that I had too many things going on. So even when I did things right, it was months before I could get back to doing anything. (The indie film I was DP and editor for is still NOT DONE :grumpy: and not my fault.) So consequently, I would lose some of...

    48 Hour Film Project Tips

I've done two of these! I did one last summer! Have LOTS of coffee on hand. You will probably not get much sleep. Delegate to your crew. The director can't do everything him/herself. Feed everybody. Pizza goes a long way, or McDonalds $1 cheeseburgers and $1 fries, everybody's happy and not...

...Okay.... I am back to this question now that finals for the 1st half of the summer are over and I am now into the 2nd half of summer classes. I will be installing Bootcamp because it is logical that a program written by Apple for Apple would run better on a Mac. Right now I am reading up...

How do I move my FCP project to my external hard drive?

Yeah, I have a project that I dragged and dropped and lost all my clip connections. I would like to avoid that in the future. One more thing: After everything is moved, on my INTERNAL, there are capture scratch files. Should I keep them or can I just delete them? I know I don't need the render...

How do I move my FCP project to my external hard drive?

Well, what happened/s is that last summer I was as busy as I've ever been. Things moved very quickly for my projects - too bad I wasn't making any money off of them - ANYWAY...:D I would lose the thread of how to do it and then wasn't sure if it had been done correctly. Plus, there was always...

How do I move my FCP project to my external hard drive?

OKAY.... I am posting how to copy your FCP project to your external hard drive WITHOUT losing any of your edits, footage or having to go back in and re-connect all of your clips. If you have big projects, the LAST thing you want to do is be put in a position of having to re-connect all that...

How do I move my FCP project to my external hard drive?

I think I am still nervous about doing it, which is why I'm asking again. Yeah, everything is in its respective folder.... I hope.... Well, I HAVE to do it now, or else, no more programs and I need them now, especially After Effects and Photoshop. -- spinner

How do I move my FCP project to my external hard drive?

The project is saved on my desktop. The way I think it needs to be done is with the Media Manager in order for it to be moved without having to reconnect all of your clips. ...at least that is what the YouTube explanation says.... -- spinner

How do I move my FCP project to my external hard drive?

Hi all! I am in need once again of advice from the IT forum :D I have about 300Gb of projects on the hard drive of my computer. All projects were edited in Final Cut Pro 6. The situation is, however, that I have computer programs that I would like to have on my internal hard drive, instead of...

watch FIRST music video I've ever filmed. Comments?

I think this was a great first attempt  Most new music videos....well, I guess it depends on what genre of music you are in, you don't need to necessarily establish 'a story' per se. There are MANY videos that want to present an emotion. I think you did that. I liked your camera shots and...
