Panasonic AGDVX100B backpack. I need help

Hey MCPollo, I picked up the Crumpler Whickey & Cox backpack http://www.crumplerbags.com/Lite/English/Products/Whickey-and-Cox-WC03A.html It's not huge, but I can carry my DVX-100a, my Nikon D90, a couple lenses and my 15" Mac Book Pro, and still have room for all necessary cables and...

    Glad to be back

Hi everyone. I was distracted from my filmmaking ambitions for about three years while I finished my degree and pursued my interests in television production. The last time I logged in, my username was Lefteye, but that account has since gone away. I am currently working at ESPN in Bristol...

Hi, Here's a little video I threw together one Saturday. It's in the H.264 codec, so I'm sorry if it's not compatible with your version of Quicktime. Hope you enjoy. http://www.lukewilbanks.com/video/cricketdeath.mov Luke http://www.lukewilbanks.com

    watch Genuine Earth #1

You guys are right. I used the default compression settings in FCP which includes the H.264 codec. I'm currently exporting using the sorensen codec. Hope that works for people. I'll let you know when I have it online. Thanks! Luke

Hey guys. I'd like to show something that I shot and edited. This is for the NMSU branch of Campus Crusade for Christ. I didn't write or direct it. I just made it happen. So, if possible, I hope you enjoy. Genuine Earth #1 QT 9.2MB Thanks, Luke www.lukewilbanks.com

    Cinematography, tricks that bug you...

That's good to know. I didn't realize there were other names for it. I think it's a really neat technique. For some reason, none of my friends can understand how it works when I try to show them. They think it's magic, lol. And they're all their twenties, too :weird:. I guess that's what...

    Cinematography, tricks that bug you...

There is an effect I think I remember seeing in "You've got Mail" a few years ago. It is basically the smoothest pan ever attempted in the entire world with perfect starts and stops. My guess is that it is actually movement within a static shot that is done in post. It catches me off guard...

That "crazy dolly zoom" is called the Vertigo effect, first popularized by Alfred Hitchcock. Oops. this thread is like three weeks old. Oh well. Luke

    Questionable company

Hi I've finally pulled my funds together to buy a dvx100a. I was about to place the order at Abe's of Maine, but then I found it for cheaper at PriceRightPhoto.com. It doesn't sound like a legit company. Has anyone had any experience with this site? I know someone has put together a list of...

I've got the green screen blues

Hi Shaw, I am interested in seeing your results, regardless of how they turned out- that is, if you have the time/energy/will to upload the file. What should I have done differently to offset the tonality of the screen? I understand the luminescence issue- In the future I will use...

I've got the green screen blues

Thanks Steve, That is an excellent result. I am going to start thinking about a third party keying software. I guess Final Cut Pro isn't cut out for the meaty compositing techniques. I'd like to find something that will be compatible with FCP. Thanks again, Luke

I've got the green screen blues

Thanks Zen, I didn't imagine that a pane of glass could mess the key up so bad. I'll definetely keep that in mind for the future. The camera was inside the car mounted to the dash board and had a wide-angle lens. That was an awesome guide. Thanks for leading me there. Luke

I've got the green screen blues

The camera we were forced to use was a 3ccd consumer level Panasonic camera. I don't know the model # off hand. I too have never had so much trouble with a key. The process is normally pretty smooth for me. If anyone else would like to try their hand at this composition, there is a 9...

I've got the green screen blues

Hey Shaw, That would be awesome if you could throw my stuff through your system. I wouldn't burden you with all my green screen shots. Maybe I could give you a 5 or 10 second clip. If it turns out that the problem is with my lighting I can re-shoot. Otherwise, I'll buy whatever software I...

I've got the green screen blues

Hi, I'm in production for a music video I decided to do for fun. Most of my shots involve using a green screen. My plan was to use Final Cut Pro 4.5 to key in the plates. I thought it would go over really well in editing since I lit the screen and foreground so well. Unfortunately, that's...
